I just wonder whether there are any blues like me who are Blue Badge holders and have been unlucky in the EFC ballot for parking places at Hill Dickinson Stadium and are struggling with the parking facilities around the area. My Blue Badge is as a result of lung disease, which means I can’t walk very far.

I attended the test events and the Brighton game and found it very difficult to find a space anywhere near the stadium. Following the test events, I wrote to Liverpool City Council and asked the simple question: “Where can a Blue Badge holder park within easy walking distance of the stadium?”

They replied:

“In the Permit Parking Areas around the stadium, Blue Badge holders can park for unlimited amounts of time as long as they clearly display their Blue Badge. (Please see attached map of parking controls around the stadium.)

On single or double yellow lines (without loading restrictions) Blue Badge holders can park for up to 3 hours so long as the Blue Badge and clock are displayed, and they are not causing an obstruction (For example, within 10 metres of a junction).”
