James Garner aims to make his “dream come true” with a maiden senior England cap after securing his first-ever national team call-up. The Everton midfielder was named in the Three Lions squad for the upcoming international break.

Thomas Tuchel’s side will face Uruguay on March 27 and Japan on March 31.

Garner has been the most consistent performer for the Toffees this season and demonstrated his majestic ability once again against Chelsea. It was his defence splitting pass that allowed Beto to score the opener, leading to a 3-0 win at home.

It was Garner’s sixth assist of the season, now equal with Jack Grealish as the highest for the Toffees.

“I'm trying to do everything. I'm trying to win the ball, I'm trying to create, I'm trying to score and I'm trying to lead,” said the midfielder.

“Whatever I can do. If I can't affect the game one way, I'll be affecting it the other way.”

When asked about his inclusion in the national team, Garner added, “I can't wait to get there. I'm hoping I'll get my first cap because it'll be a dream come true.”

Best of luck lad -- I'll be there on Friday, cheering you and JP1 on from the stands, and hoping to see you in the States this summer, geopolitical mindf^ckery notwithstanding.

He had high praise for Moyes and his staff, saying not only him but the club has come on leaps and bounds since Moyes took over?

Am I right in saying that Tuchel is going to swap 11 players round between the two matches meaning James will only be involved in 1 squad? If so, do we know which game that is?
