Everton return to action after a three-week hiatus to take on Brentford at the GTech Community Stadium on Saturday.
The Blues were on a positive run of form before the latest international break, winning three out of their last four games. Their only loss during that period was against league leaders Arsenal where David Moyes’s side could’ve easily come back from the Emirates with a stalemate.
Everton beat Newcastle Utd away from home before recording back-to-back triumphs over Burnley and Chelsea to brush aside concerns surrounding their form at Hill Dickinson Stadium where they hadn’t won since 6 December 2025.
Their performance against Chelsea was one of the best of the season and it further bolstered Everton’s European hopes. Beto scored either side of the half-time break while Iliman Ndiaye secured the icing on the cake with a top-bins finish.
Brentford, who are level with the Toffees on 46 points and just ahead of them on goal difference, are expected to be competitors in the race to secure the 5th Champions League spot.
Everton have picked up more points on their travels (24) than at home (22) this season and they’ve accumulated 41 points away from home since Moyes returned to the club last January — the latter record only bettered by Arsenal with 48 cumulative points. Everton are also unbeaten in their last three Premier League visits to Brentford.
Brentford, meanwhile, will head into this game on the back of three consecutive draws. A 2-2 stalemate with Wolves was sandwiched in between goalless draws against Bournemouth and Leeds Utd, both away from home.
The Bees have also failed to score in three of their last five outings, with head coach Keith Andrews admitting that it will require a “mammoth effort” for Brentford to keep alive their aspirations of European qualification in the coming games.
Brentford have also failed to win any of their last four matches at home despite amassing 26 of their 46 points at the GTech Community Stadium this season.

Everton will hope to have star forward Iliman Ndiaye fit and healthy for the clash against Brentford after he pulled out of the Senegal squad with a foot injury. However, he was seen participating in the open training session this week.
Jack Grealish is going to miss the rest of the season while there are apprehensions surrounding Charly Alcaraz after the midfielder has failed to make the squad in the last seven games due to an unspecified injury.
Jarrad Branthwaite is a contender to return to the starting XI and Moyes might persist with Beto leading the line after his heroics against Chelsea.
