Japan international Yuka Momiki has become the latest signing of the season for Everton Women after agreeing to join as a free agent. Her contract with Leicester City expired last month.
The forward has become the fifth signing of the summer for Brian Sorensen’s side. Besides Rosa van Gool and Ornella Vignella, Momiki’s compatriots Rion Ishikawa and Hikaru Kitagawa have also joined the Toffees for their inaugural season at Goodison Park.
Momiki, along with Ishikawa and Kitagawa, have all played along with club teammate Honoka Hayashi for the Japan national team.
“I am just so excited to be a player for Everton and also I am so excited to play at Goodison Park,” she told the club website.
“I went on the guided tour of Goodison Park and I heard all of the stories. It made me really proud knowing I will be a part of the Club’s history, so I can’t wait.
“Women’s football is growing so much. In England, and also at Everton, there is a clear goal to grow our game as much as possible. That ambition, makes me even more excited and was a key reason for me coming here.”
Momiki has been instrumental to Japan’s success on the international stage and she won the 2025 SheBelieves Cup alongside her three club compatriots. She also travelled to the 2019 World Cup and competed in the 2020 Olympic Games.
Momiki scored eight goals in 43 games for Leicester after joining them in January 2024 following a spell with Swedish side Linkopings. She has also played in Japan and the US, where she was born.
