Tamworth 2 – 3 Everton U21s
On Tuesday night, Everton U21s secured a fine win at Tamworth in Group C of the National League Cup where they took a half-time lead after goals from Finney and Gomez on an icy pitch at The Lamb Ground.
From a free-kick, George Finney (18′) scored with a right-footed shot from outside the box to the top left corner, assisted by Harvey Foster.

Tamworth pulled level a few minutes later but Francis Gomez (33′) was on target for the Young Blues with a right-footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner, assisted by Braiden Graham.
Tamworth pulled level again early in the second half but Braiden Graham (59′) put the boys in Blue back in front with a right-footed shot from outside the box to the top right corner, assisted by Francis Gomez.
Everton U21s came under considerable pressure, with Fraser Barnsley making three fantastic saves to keep the Young Blues ahead. Braiden Graham should have made it 4 for the visitors, shooting across the face of goal with 5 minutes left.
Everton broke at pace in the 5 minutes of added time and Foster should have scored when Graham put him through but he lashed it just over the bar.
