David Moyes has said Jack Grealish remains unavailable for Everton ahead of tomorrow night’s clash with Coventry City in the Premier League.
Grealish missed both of the club’s recent victories over Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup and Premier League, following a breach of club discipline. The 31-year-old is understood to have failed to report for training last Monday, having also missed the defeat at Arsenal on October 24th through ‘illness’.
Moyes has confirmed that Grealish will not be considered for selection against Coventry, but said the winger will return ‘soon’.
“Jack is not available. I would not give you the plan but we will be working with Jack again soon,” the Scot said at his pre-match press conference.
Asked if the international break provides a chance to resolve issues with Grealish, Moyes said: “We will see.”
Moyes also refused to confirm whether Jarrad Branthwaite would feature. Branthwaite was withdrawn after 82 minutes of the 1-0 win at Newcastle on Monday night, and Moyes said the club will continue to ‘nurse’ the defender amid recent fitness issues.
“We are just nursing him a long a little bit and checking to see he is ok. We need to see how he is.”
