Grimsby Town 5 – 3 Everton U21s
With no possibility of progressing in the Vertu EFL Trophy this season, Everton U21s were humbled by conceding 5 goals at Grimsby Town on Tuesday night.
The Young Blues took the lead through Jacob Beaumont-Clark but were pegged back before the break when they went in 2-1 down to the home side in this final Group C game of this season’s Vertu EFL Trophy competition.
By the hour mark, they were 4-1 down, but William Tamen pulled one back. Grimsby notched another for a humiliating 5-2 scoreline in the final minutes but George Morgan made it marginally less embarrassing in added time.
