Cieran Loney, a 16-year-old forward who became Partick Thistle’s youngest-ever player, is close to being confirmed as an Everton player, according to The Athletic.
Jordan Campbell and Paddy Boyland report that the youngster caught the eye of the Toffees’ scouts and impressed on a trial at Finch Farm having also spent time with other English clubs, including Brighton & Hove Albion.
Loney made his debut for the Jags at the tail end of this past season and, if all goes to plan, he will join Northern Irish prospect Braiden Graham in Everton’s Academy this summer.
