Duncan Ferguson has returned to football management just a few months after leaving Forest Green Rovers, taking up the role of head coach of Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The Everton favourite was overlooked for the top job at Goodison Park in January last year when Frank Lampard was appointed as the Toffees’ manager and he left the club in search of his first head-coaching job the following summer.
He was eventually appointed as Forest Green’s manager and handed the almost impossible task of saving them from relegation from League One, given that they were mired at the bottom of the table when he took over.
Ferguson parted ways with the Gloucestershire club at the end of last season but now gets the chance to try and revive Inverness’s fortunes.
They currently sit bottom of the Scottish Championship with just one point from their opening six games.
It’s the first time that Ferguson has worked in his native Scotland since leaving Rangers for Everton in 1994.
