Everton’s chances of finally signing Wilfred Gnonto this summer have improved dramatically with reports that the club is close to agreeing a fee with Leeds for the winger.
The Blues appeared to be on the verge of landing Gnonto earlier in the summer transfer window but negotiations stalled as the Yorkshire outfit changed ownership and seemed to be holding out for as big a fee as possible.
The Italian, known to want a quick return to the Premier League, appears to have grown frustated with the impasse and made himself unavailable for Leeds’s Carabao Cup tie against Shrewsbury Town this week.
That might have prompted Leeds back to the table to discuss a potential £12m deal according to the latest reports.
