$18 million? Bite off their hands!

Comments (6)

I would prefer to see AJ stay at Goodison but he is not worth £18 million and if we are offered that then it would be good business. With that money we can buy someone with a broader skill set. If they are willing to go to say, £22 mill for Johnson and Beattie in a two-fer-one, then I say bite off their hands.

AJ might not have been worth £8m a year ago but the transfer market is clearly massively inflated this summer and it’d cost us much more to get someone in of comparable ability... well, at least in the domestic market. So in that sense he probably is worth £18m.

Lets do some business, spend the money on 2 striker and a winger, Lets do this,

- (Rooney + Graverson) = Top 4

18 million = Top 5 !

£18 million for Beattie, I’d take that. £18 million for Johnson? No thanks - keep it.

The hammers are trying to buy success, in all essence though, they still may be in the championship next season (it’s not entirely decided).

A billionaire is prepared to spend 18 million on someone with no first touch, lousy airial skills, is unable to take a physical challenge and stay on his feet or hold onto the ball until help arrives? Its a no brainer.

Interesting to see the tabloids trying to generate some itchy feet at our club. Johnson has done well for us but if (as we are also rumoured to be) we sign Nugent, then I think it would give us a good excuse to double our money on him as I don't see Moyes playing both of them together... plus it would help us balance the books!
