Denial

Comments (11)

Pardon my language but I don't usually give a shite about what the Kopites say about themselves or what others (especially the local media) say about them. But today, on the Roger Phillips phone -in, on Radio Merseyside, a Kopite came on and brought up the Heysel tragedy. According to him he was there that night and the problem was not Liverpool supporters (he conjectured) but the fact that the wire fence FELL DOWN which caused the Italians to panic leading to the deaths of the 39.

Fucking amazing! Whatever state the stadium was in, is it not an incredible coincidence that the fence chose that moment to fall down!

Anybody with an IQ marginally above that of a dead frog would realize that that was a load of unadulterated crap... except, it seems, Roger Phillips. The statement went completely unchallenged. That is annoying enough but what worries me a hell of a lot more is the fact that 'Football' in this country learned a very serious lesson as a result of the events at Heysel. If this prick who phoned Radio Merseyside is an example of the thought processes in operation amongst Kopites then there is a serious danger that this lesson is in process of being UNLEARNED. While it may not be of the same order of magnitude, this is very much the same ilk as Holocaust denial and it is being ably assisted by the local media.

I love this beautiful game of ours. I love Everton Football Club. I love justice and peace and I can even put up with fucking Kopites if at least they are honest and when they are not they are brought to task by the people with the power to do so. But none of this is happening at the moment and I think it is a fucking disgrace.

We have been in the 'shadow' of this shower of shite for years but now we have an opportunity to put them in our Shadow. However far we get in Europe next season let's make sure that nobody can level the charge against us that we are the worst supporters in Europe. Let's elicit the same response as we got all those years ago in Rotterdam. I am not pretending that everything is perfect if you're Blue, we have a share of idiots ....but they are hard to find. And that is what makes me proud to be an Evertonian.

Went to Rotterdam 22 years ago and was, along with all other Blues, just too excited and proud to even think about causing any trouble. For our exemplary behaviour we were rewarded with a 5 year ban from Europe - and thy wonder why we’re called bitter blues!

It’s a bitter pill to swallow that the media forgets Heysel all too quickly failing to mention the death of thirty nine Italian fans who were cleary shown on the TV pictures at the time as not fighting (how could they on the other side of the fencing?) and what has also been forgotten were the five hundred or so injured plus the families of those 39, who has shown them any remorse?

To claim through moronic ignorance of any reason other than the truth that the Liverpool fans caused the trouble is an insult to the 39, their families and those injured, how about "Justice for Heysel"?

Ignorance is not bliss, but it helps if you don’t want to face the truth. On May 4 1976 I and some other Blues travelled to Wolverhampton to see if Wolves could escape the drop and prevent our freinds from becoming Champions. Unfortunately Wolves were relegated, scant consolation being that I didn’t pay to enter the ground. It is the only First Class match that I gained access to without paying. I didn’t choose not to pay, as more and more people arrived the pressure on the gates, which were as yet unmanned and locked, became unbearable and we were swept into the ground in a human wave. This phenomennon does it seems to me have an uncanny association with our neighbours , just listen (if you can) to any 60s 70s Merseyside comedian and they will recite tales of ingenious? ways of getting into the game without a ticket. Maybe the myth has now become the reality or perhaps the myth has always been the truth.

Its really is a joke. Watching Sky sports and they have rolled out all manner of excuses. Some idiot from the Echo has been demanding Galliards resignation. I presume this dossier was based on fact yet the reds seem to think it is all made up nonesense.
Worst of all is Rick Parry. This odious fool was quoted before Athens as saying 40000 Liverpool fans would get in ’by hook, or by crook’. Well he was spot on ....they are a bunch of crooks who fought, stole and forced thier way in to the ground. Yet when the inevitable happens Parry makes no mention of his previous statement which did plenty to encourage these so called fans to get in by whatever means possible.
The hypocrisy of Liverpool FC, it’s supporters and the arse licking media over all of this is astonishing. It does actually beggar belief that they continue to delude themselves that having been responsible for getting all English football clubs banned from Europe, the death of 39 Italians and having played a part in the death of 96 of their own fans that they they blame every body else.
The final insult came on Sky about five minutes ago...a red journalist claiming it was the worst oragnised final since...wait for it Heysel!! Then Rick Parry comes on and claims he’s not seen anything like it since...wait for it...Hillsborough!! Incredible. We all know what the common factor was at both of those.
This whole episode has reminded me not just how much I hate them but WHY I hate them so much.

Sorry to post twice in succession but if you want to view this hypocrisy in all it’s glory visit the Echo’s LFC forum...It’s scary, like being in One flew over the cuckoos nest. Sample quotes ’Its UEFAs fault..they forced supporters to bunk in because of the allocation’ and a call for G14 clubs to abandon UEFA because they are self interested and selfish...priceless.

well lets hope the G14 go through with this act of gross hypocrisy, the sooner that dispicable cartel pisses of to play in their own so called super league the sooner the rest of us can start enjoying football as a competitive sport again.

Once again the reds fail to accept any shortcomings are their fault,Prior to Hysel the word going around the pubs I drank in was that after the treatment handed to them against Roma the year before that this time were ready,So of course its not there fault(please note thats sarcasm) and as there was a shortage of tickets they where forced to steal tickets off fellow reds and children and according to them the fans abused and robbed didnt have scouse accents so thats alright then Now not content with changing the rules of football they want to change criminal law also It must have been a greek official who shouted charge so these law abiddind Jack the lad supporters tried to force their way past the police,Just once will they hold there hands up and admit yes we were wrong

On a similar note, I was on the skysports forum yesterday and I was called a clueless idiot for saying that Rafa has spent a fortune last season and won nothing. I was also called a disgrace when I mentioned that certain elements of Liverpool fans were scum for ripping off their own fans who had genuine tickets for the Champions League final. Yep you guessed it, both people who had a go at me were Reds.

They don’t like it up em. One lad had a go at me and mentioned that we had won nothing as well, so I just sorted out the facts and figures of last season for the lad. One win and a draw against Liverpool last season, a fraction of the money spent compared to them, a European spot with a patched up team for most of the season. He didn’t like that, why can’t reds take criticism?

Most of my feelings have already been covered in the above and im made up there are people out there with the same opinions as me.
The RS do nothing but blame other people for what happens. Hillsoboro and Heysel were both tragic but what was the common denominator? The Red Shite were there. BUT it wasnt anything to do with them. Heysel was a bad stadium, Chelsea fans in red shirts etc. Nothing to do with the RS boys chasing Juve fans into the wall. Same with Hillsboro, like Athens, titheads without tickets trying to get in causing panic outside that lead to the tragic events inside. Why was there no issue with the Milan fans on the other side of the ground?????
Thing is you mention this to any Red Shite in the pub and it causes a fight, believe me I know. They blame everyone but themselves and once again they’ll drag English football through the mud and everyone else will be made to suffer. Worse thing is, the press will back this campaign as we cant have the great Liverpool reputation smeared....

The RS fans live in cuckoo land and always have, any player who puts on a red shirt is the best in the world. They do not recognise that they wereto blame for the murder of 39 Italians, they should have stood and fought was one comment at the time.
No They forget Hysell but every fucking chance they get we have Hillsborogh rammed down our throats. They are sick self centred unknowledgable pricks who will deserve all the shit that is due to them. The yanks I hope will do a better job than Agent Johnson, They are a shit team who are lucky and if UEFA had any balls they would ban them.
