When will we sign a new player??

Comments (8)

I have managed to stay calm and patient over our transfer activities since the season ended but now, I am starting to get nervy. Everyone knows we need midfielders and to see Barton, Reo-Coker and Parker do their merry goround and not one bit of indication that we lodge any kinda bid for them is having me worried.

Surely we aren't planning our Uefa Cup assault on transfer market left-overs.... or maybe, we will just re-sign Unsy in August. We might be dreaming about challenging the top 4 next season but in reality, we will have a big job hanging on to our new "top 6" status because I do think that West Ham, Aston Villa and Newcastle are doing the right thing with their manager appointments and transfer dealings.

Why would you want a lazy chip on his shoulder player like Reo-Coker or trouble from Barton, Parker already had chance to come here but turned his nose up to go to the skunks for trophies/success??? You must be joking, why cos were in Europe do we have to buy these jumped up moneygrabbers. Get Jagielka & Fernandes in for a start, plus a few more who can combine hard work & quality. Ideally the likes of D.Bent or Nugent, Koumas, and hopefully a couple of wide men and fingers crossed a full back. Have a bit of faith!

Gotta agree with Mr Slap, Reo-Coker is an average centre mid, with an attitude. Dont touch him with a barge pole! Same could be said for Joey ’too good for city’ Barton. A mouthy scally who needs knockin out! He can be a good player but not worth rockin the boat for. COYB

Id hardly say signing Jagielka was a step in the right direction. Moyes went for Barton in January as far as we know so whats changed now? Surely a strong and confident manager would be able to bring out the ability we all know he has and erase any mischevious behaviour. Plus its about time we saw someone with a bit of passion and aggression in that midfield. When was the last time we saw Carsley really go through someone. Rooneys ability to remain on his feet unscathed during our defeat at home clearly answers this. As for Parker he’s completely overated and Reo-coker would be worth signing but not for the asking price. Oh and as for Fernandes....best hope is on loan, Mr Panto aint got anywhere near enough money to bring him in.

but in Moyes we must trust..get a move on!

Dont know if its paranoia but the day ManYOU announce that Smith is not getting a new contract is the same day that it is rumoured that Evertons intertest has cooled. Have we actually got a transfer kitty?

In answer to A H - "when was the last time we saw Carsley go though someone?"

.... November and Tim Cahill spring to mind.

Over the last couple of years I thought we had started to make some progress in getting players to come to the club, it wasnt that long ago that no one wanted to come. I dont know if they are looking to see if they can cash in on a few players Arteta / Beatie AJ. I hope not but wouldent be suprised if they did and then go and spend a small portion of it on replacments.
