Transfers

Comments (3)

I used to think that watching us play each weekend was scary... but over the years I have grown to realise that there is something that is even more scary: THE TRANSFER WINDOW!.

In past years, we have often not had much of a choice and most players would have rather not come to play for us,but with Moyes at the helm that has changed. Our steady ascent has been duly noted by both players and Managers around, making us once again an option for MANY players (yes, it's true but sadly I didnt say ALL!).

This year seems even more than others and although I try and avoid it, I end up running to my computer and checking for any transfer activity that may have taken place while I slept. It's too soon to panic or worry but we do need to stregthen our squad significantly before the start of the new season. I trust Moyes to make the right choices. Let's hope he doesnt let us down... Come on you Blues!

Like Santosh I am adding to the wasted man hours in industry by checking the tinternet constantly whilst at work for some sort of transfer activity, which I can only compare to checking the mail everyday for a reply to my letter to Sam Fox when I was 11! Nowt!

The season before last it was too much dilly dallying & leaving it too late, last season was spot on... in & out straight away & now we have an awkward silence? No approaches, no convincing rebuttals of the ever snow balling AJ rumours, nada.

Finishing 4th was a fluke, this season was merit & performance & so we are now standing on the threshold our most promising era since the 80’s with a much coveted squad.

The Peoples Club must.... clear up the AJ business, tie up Arteta properly & for Gods sake show some ambition in the transfer market. Silence isn’t golden, we are ’THE’ club at the minute with loads to build on so make some noise or pass the reigns to someone with a bit more drive in the boardroom.

The close season is undoubtedly frustrating but other than those on international duty the vast majority of player’s /stroke manager’s will be recuperating and away on holiday. The likes of Allardyce and Curbishley will have little in the way of a break after last season’s horrors with major surgery required to their respective squad’s. Players including Barton, Parker and Reo Coker may have been on Moyes radar but prohibitive wage demands, attitudes and whether they would actually add to the blend remain entirely feasible. I’m seriously hoping that we dont see a drawn out and protracted summer of inactivity, hopeful that last season’s signings arent out of this summer’s coffers and we hit the ground running come August. Supporting Everton is never easy, anyone for Cricket ?
