Arteta Pictured?
Comments (25)
A friend of mine is a West Ham fan and he sent me this link from one of their websites: What do you think?
June, 2007 - 19:31.
I have seen Arteta in the Marriot hotel in Waltham Abbey, he was with his agent and also West Ham manager Alan Curbishley. From what I over heard, it felt like Curbishley was trying to agree terms with Arteta joining West Ham. Photo Evidence Available.

I think that looks like Alan Curbishley but it doesn?t look lik Arteta. Hair?s too long and he looks too tall and angular in the face to be Mikel. But that?s just me...
To be honest it looks more like Keith Gillespie of Sheffield United.
Could also be Joey Barton... wasn't he talking to them too?
Wheres the picture of Arteta talking to Curbishly? You've got a nice one of two waiters helping Mr Curbishley with his order - that's not Arteta - fact. Would they conduct business in public - no!
If that Bloke with Curbishley was Arteta then I'm Jose Mourinho. It looks like one of those spoof TV clips where look a likes act out hilarious (not!) scenes we'd all like to see; in this case what the West Ham fans would like to see !
As the awful Michael Winner would say in his cringy ads for car insurance,'calm down my dears'.
As the TW editors have said 'silly season' has well and truly started. It's all bollocks quite frankly but the one thing I hold onto is that I don't think we are a selling club anymore and we are looking to strengthen the squad not weaken it.
If Arteta or AJ were sold I personally think Moyes would go to, as they are lynch pins in his plans for the Club. (I can hear the cheers from the anti Moyes brigade as I write !).
Much better to play football manager as to the players who might come in. I am encouraged by the deafening silence; as it means that we are going about our business quietly to be better placed to 'get our man'
You would have to be blinkered to think that that is Arteta sitting there. Having seen Mikel close up and having his photograph from the end of the season I know what he looks like. No offence to the guy sat there but Arteta is way better looking than that!!
That looks more like Li Tie to me than Arteta!
I agree, it doesnt even look like Arteta besides, let's stop to think about it here. Would Arteta really want to or even consider joining West Ham even if they doubled his current salary?
I have a friend in the FBI who has high density filter facility on dodgy digital shots and he confirms that the shot is of one of characters from the famous 1970s western on TV
For anyone who does think it’s Arteta and is therefore shitting themselves, let’s just wait to see if any stories surface about it tomorrow. If not then it’s surely got to be a fake, no newspaper would miss a story like this.
"Shudda gone to Specsavers!!!!"
I showed the pic to my wife who is an avid Everton fan too(and has better vision than me!)and she says.."Arteta..that..no way"..and i trust her judgement in picking out great men..ha ha
..........actually that’s the wee dwarf from "Layer Cake"- fucker always struck me as a Red.......
I read on another board that it’s some bloke called Elano?
I believe the guy in the picture is Kevin Richardson of the Back Street Boys. Curbs look like an aging Boy Band member.

P.S. if that is Arteta (which it isn’t) some saddo west ham fan has photoshopped him into a picture with Curbs (if that is Curbs).
But I think it is the one and the only Keith Gillespie and the guy who thought it was Arteta possibly has some sort of problem with 20/20 vision.
What’s next? A picture of Andy Johnston’s head crudely photoshopped onto some West Ham player talking to Curbs? Or even Beattie talking to Newcastle or Wigan (no wait, I actually want that last one to happen).
How come so many people seem to know someone who works in that hotel and was working on that day? This business wouldn’t be conducted in public as Everton have not accepted a bid, therefore this would be classed as tapping up. I think west Ham will be avoiding such controversy as their Premiership status is already under threat.
My uncle who owns a chip shop has told me that he was told by the guy who delivers potatoes to the chippy that his next door neighbours mate was told by his second cousin who works at the hotel that Curbishley was not talkin to Arteta.
Never been Arteta!! If Arteta were to leave it would be to return to Spain. I very much doubt he would leave for another Premiership club especailly not one outside the top 4 and especially not one that just avoided relegation and is not in Europe!
Looks fuck all like him. Behave!
The consensus now on the KUMB forum where the picture appared is that it’s Maxi Rodriguez.

Just spoken to Curbs - so we can all put the matter to bed, he has assured me it was Tevez, the lad has had some facial reconstruction to cover up his scars and this is the new look.
Whilst I agree that I don't think for an instant it is Mickey in that picture (more likely Mickey Mouse!), I would just add that we now live in the Sky Sports-fuelled world of The Mercenary Bastard footballer. Their motto being "He who pays the highest wage gets my services, but not my loyalty".
Whilst Mickey may not fall into this category, look at how many "lifelong true fans" have happily gone elsewhere for higher pay. Although the likes of Barton are more than welcome to go to Uncle Sam's clogging, dirty Geordie Shite, as far as I am concerned. In essence, my point is, don't rely on loyalty these days, money talks, sadly.
