The Masters Team

Comments (7)

Why is it we always have a rubbish team for it? If you look at the players we could have why do none of them play?

Dave Watson
Anders Limpar
Andrei Kanchelskis
Peter Beagrie
Richard Gough
Duncan Ferguson
Graham Stuart

The list does go on and on, but we always end up with players such as Angell and Barlow, who are sheer no-marks.

Duncan Ferguson doesn’t play because the organisers don’t want to spoil their unblemished record of a Masters player never having been sent off!

Peter Beagrie does play for the Everton masters as does Dave Watson and I pretty sure graham stuart does also.

We have had Big Nev in goal and out on the pitch for the masters also, so not that bad a team.

Newcomer, Wright’s sole Everton appearance came in April 1990 against QPR at Goodison Park. Despite Wright giving away a last minute penalty, Everton won the game 1-0.

He was then sent to Huddersfield, Accrington Stanley, and Wigan to ply his trade until he retired in 1995, aged just 25.

With a combined total of over 1500 first team appearances, the Everton team will be hoping to fend off competition from Liverpool, Coventry and Leicester City and lift the 2007 Coventry Masters trophy.

Coverage of the event begins at 4pm and can be seen live on Sky Sports.

It is an embarrassment every year watching a flabby Jan molby outpacing the unfit crowd we seem to continually field each year..Paul Lodge could hardly run when he was eighteen..Does the club have any input into this or is it an old boys reunion?

To further my comment, I hate turning onto it, to see us lose every game, and have players that clearly aren?t masters of Everton Football Club, Big Nev saves us every year.
