Have faith!

How sad that after all he has achieved at Goodison, so many Evertonians lack faith in David Moyes`s ability to sign the right players. Davey has said on numerous occasions that we are in need of re-inforcements for the coming season and I have not the slightest doubt we shall have them. With a limited budget it takes time to wheel and deal but by deadline time there is no doubt that `the numbers` will be in place. Have faith in `The Moyestro`, I beg you!

Ah yes... how does it go again? In Moyes We Trust. 2004-05 was merely a bad memory, eh, Dickie?

Wow judging from the responses to my latest post it's now a serious crime to bad mouth Darling Dave. You lot need to get your collective heads out of your arses. Lets say we need at least 6 new players to boost the current squad and if Moyes off-loads Beattie, Pistone, AvdM etc then that number will have to rise.

So when do you suggest we start the ball rolling in making 6 to 10 deals happen either in or out? Last week in August I presume. That wouldn't suprise me at all. Moyes has done a decent enough job getting us into the top 6 but this is where the hard work begins. We don't want another cock up when entering a European Competition do we? In fact, we never played in either the CL or the Uefa cup proper last time around. We were knocked out in the qualifying stages of both ? all down to a rotten transfer policy. Why cant you understand my concern over lack of movement from the club? Haven't we seen it all before?

Moyes is no genius; he has been well backed by the board and who's to say another manager would not have achieved more or less than Davie Boy given the funds Moyes has had? It seems to me that too many of you Moyes zealots [nice one Luq] think the job's done and please stop going on about Moyes's European record ? it stinks: P 4 W 1 D L 3 GF 3 GA 9... five conceded to Romanian bricklayers and waiters.

This time let's get some new blood in, deadwood outm and have a proper go. Not to much to ask is it?

Lets be positve, two of the players we are being linked with are currently on U21 duty with England, namely Nugent and Baines. Deals for these two can’t be completed until they return back to England. Another reason for lack of transfer activity may be because Kenwright has been in London with the joseph show and now can return to concentrating on EFC. Apart from Man Utd and maybe Newcastle not many big signings have been made. Most players have been on international duty or holidays, I’d expect most clubs to start signing players late June / early July.

Lets just wait and see what happens!

Richard or is it Keith or Dominic, the team has been short on numbers on an increasing basis since before the start of last season, reducing again in the January transfer window. I’’l happily show faith the day Kenwright tells the truth and acts like a chairman and not a self centred luvvie spouting lies or breaking his bull 24/7 with tat like that Joseph show and Moyes carries on with the progress he has made and takes the next step in building this team with both numbers and quality with the likes of Fernandes, we can’t consider carthorses and journeymen as suitable. Why are we never linked with players from Europe and further afield either rather than overpriced and overrated tripe a la Beattie was.

You raise a good point Gavin about being linked with players based abroad. I suppose it might come down to our profile abroad. The top tier teams like Utd Liverpool and Arsenal are recognised brands in their own right and are in the Champions’ league every season. You would presume that most European clubs, players and agents wil have heard of these teams. Second tier teams like Spurs, Newcastle and Middlesboro have all had very decent Uefa cup runs over the last two or three seasons.Again, as a result, they have come to the attention of European players, clubs and agents. They have also had cash to spend over the last number of years so the raised profile has been made the most of. Everton, unfortunately don’t have that profile. To make it worse we got hammered by a second rate Budapest team on our last European outing.

A second reason is that perhaps our scouting system is not up to standard. I know little about this to be honest and am just speculating, but we do not seem to be able to pinpoint decent european talent. Yobo is the only non british player that I can think of that has been a success under the current regime, and there was other interest in his signature from Arsenal, so he was known.( I’m omitting Gravesen because I think he was bought under the Smith regime but correct me if I’m wrong.)

Tony Marsh!!!!!! I think Moyes made you eat your words on many occasions last season. Why don't you give up your pathetic and lonely vigil as the ?Harbinger of Goodison doom? and find something useful to do. Your tiny voice is hardly audible against the sea swell of good thoughts for Moyes. When your mutterings are heard it is purely because of thier utter stupidity and lack of intelligence. I for one am looking forward to your next rant as they give me such a laugh. No doubt you will be very vocal during the summer as once the season starts Moyesey will be shoving your ill-chosen words right up your jacksey again and again and again. I CAN?T WAIT and there is a sneaky part of me that thinks you are looking forward to it to!!!! COYB

Is Tony Marsh the most pesimistic evertonian in the world? If you know anyone worse please post it on here. Could you imagine being next to him at the match! Christ itd be a long 90 minutes....god its only 3-0,... god weve only finished 6th etc etc

Ill start worrying if and when our potential signings sign for other clubs because of davey's ?dithering? till then just calm down and enjoy the pantomime that is the transfer pages...

Michael, with reference to your reply to Richard Dodd, unless I'm very much mistaken, 2004-05 was the season we finished 4th. I remember this season somewhat more fondly than you...
