Why don't we say to West Ham "Yes we'll take your £20 million for AJ" then starve Beattie for a couple of weeks, shave his head, then put him on the train to London? Gotta be worth a go.

Keeping with the form books, he would be keen as mustard to get there, work really hard to get to the station, bustle his way through the crowd on the platform but miss the train. He misses everything else!
I don’t think he’ll miss Everton if he leaves.
