I remember a similar montage posted on YouTube for AJ before he signed last year - and having signed he perhaps did not live up to the expectation of everyone in terms of taking chances and goal-scoring prowess. Unfortunately, you cannot compare the Championship with the Premier League ? they are light years apart in terms of quality. So, in my view, bidding ridiculous amounts for someone with only ?potential? who has only one year of his contract to run would be silly ? particularly with young James and Victor stepping up to the Senior squad in fine style. Priority should be fullbacks, wide men centre-mid.

I have got to admit he is a good player but for 7 million or more im still not sure. He has more skill than Johnson and Vaughan yet is not as quick or as agressive as both of them. If I had to choose between him or a creative midfielder say Fernandes it would be Fernandes hands down.

I think Beattie should definatly go so he should be replaced and Nugent probably would be the man. People keep on telling me he?s a scouser and an evertonian. Who gives a shit. Yes its nice to see local lads playing yet Anichebe, Hibbert and Stubbs are local lads and it dosent make them any better.

Also 17 goals in 50-odd games isn?t chgreat at championship level. If I had to choose between him and Beattie it would be him every time.

Mr Callaghan, you?re right on the money. Unfortunately, the video only show?s the superstar moments against Championship defenders. The goal at Elland Road for instance, can you identify any defence in the Premiership that would allow a striker to just walk through as Nugent did?

I have a season ticket in the Lower Gladys but am currently working in Preston and take clients to Deepdale as often as possible, so I?m probably in as good a position as most to comment. I?ve seen the boy play on 8-9 occasions last season and more often than not he hasn?t turned up. Preston are not a great team so Nugent and Whalley stand out, but neither are worth anything like what is being rumoured. If we even pay £6.5m I?d be put out. We paid only another £2m for AJ who?d been there and done it in the Premiership the season before.

With the emergence of particularly Vaughany (I think Vic will turn out to be another Nick Chadwick unfortunately), strikers are not a position of particular attention or investment for me. Get Nolan in, get Baines in, and please christ get some bloody with down the left!! Keep McFadden but ditch Osman.

Yes that is an impressive - especially his apparent willingness and ability to beat men on the ground to carve out chances for himself. However, the fact that the montage also makes Preston North End look like Barcelona leaves me suspicious of taking six minutes out of a whole season and making a judgement.

Have to agree with Nick Coyne. I saw plenty of shite defending and some tap ins.

Unconvinced at anything less than 3 mill.

I just watched the first half of England U21s and I?m not very impressed with Nugent so far. He looks quite... I don?t want to say lazy but he looks like he can?t be arsed. We already have Beattie...
