Only when they`ve gone.....

Fascinating that yesterday`s posting calling for the retention of Beattie should provoke so much response - 18 replies so far and counting! I don`t recall another player who so many fans would like to see the back of although Richard Wright might run him close.

It`s so easy to be dismissive of quality players in the call for fresh faces. Usually it takes a few weeks without them to recognise what they bring to the team/squad. Just look at the gap created by the sale of Kilbane ? we have no-one who makes half his contribution on the left. Is it true that he may be returning soon? ? another Stubbs-like renaissance...

Where do you think Arteta plays?

Gap left by Kilbane??? Are you having a laugh? The only gap left by Kilbane is the one on the coach mate. Moyes had the sense to get rid of him when he was offered more money than he was worth. Hopefully he’ll do the same with Beattie and I think 3 million would be more than he is worth at the minute if you’re asking.

Gap??? I thought Arteta played mostly on the left last season.

Although I agree without Kilbane, we lack a certain left-footed player, it doesn’t mean we miss him, it means that haven’t replaced him yet.

Nigel, please don’t take this the wrong way, but as entitled as you may be to your opinions, I am very glad you’re not the manager of Everton FC.

This post is typical of why we Everton FC will never move on.Kevin Killbane was one of the mostlethargic bags of crap I have seen in a Blue shirt for years and this guy wants him back.

How much more of a laughing stock do you want us to become mate.

Moyes has already let go and then resigned Wier,Pistone,Stubb,Naysmith and now you want him to bring back
a usless none event like Killbane.

Please no one call ME negative again.

I neither want nor expect to see Kilbane done the Royal Blue in the future. Selling him on for £3 (?) million was excellent business. I do however recall him putting in some reasonable appearances in the glory days ( ahem !) of 04-05.Does he deserve, then, the vitriol poured on him by some of your correspondents? I seem to remember a fairly honest, if limited, player who was never bought with the express aim of being the best left winger since Morrisey ( Johnny, not the happy gobshite with the quiff, that is)

Oh dear Nigel you were not at Blackburn away last season. Everton starting with Kilbane and Beattie were absolutely awful, Moyes takes them off and puts on McFadden and Cahill, the teams performance improves and both subs play a part in the equaliser.

Kilbane was sold and Cahill replaced Beattie as Johnsons strike partner.

If your looking for the unsung hero its Lee Carsley its no coincidence that the in both seasons that secured european football he played in most of the games.
