Worst team ever
Comments (14)
A friend asked me to name my side's all time worst XI the other day so I thought I'd post the question on here to get away from the FM-esque pointless transfer banter (and cos I'm a little bored at work).
I'm a fairly young Blues fan, but I didn't realise how much sh!te I'd seen play for us during the early 90's. Here's the side I came up with - let me know if you've got any improvements:
GK: Simonsen RB: O'Kane LB: Burrows CB: Bilic CB: Krøldrup RM: Davies CM: Williamson CM: Thomsen LM: Blomqvist CF: Bakayoko CF: Madar(Manager): Mike Walker

Mgr. Should be Walker I know, but 30 years on I still get nightmares about seeing Gordon Lee on the touchline. He gets the nod

Barrett - Bilic - Brown - Ball
Barmby - Bracewell - Ball - Beagrie
Beardsley - Beattie
Subs; Bent, Burrows, Branch, Bailey, Bakayoko
Manager; Bingham
...couldnt think of an A team, hence starting with B. Any others?
P.S. believe it or not I didn’t do the worst team thing coz I had 7 fullbacks and no centre halfs. I couldnt justify putting Bilic in because he was class (when he played) and I only saw Kroldrup play 3 times and didn’t think he was that bad. I don’t think we’ve actually been that bad for CBs, or at least not since I’ve been going. Maybe my standards are too low. Who knows.
I’d have at least put John ’Frank’ Spencer in before our mercurial Frenchman...
Always left the match thinking all he did was chase around like a headless chicken, shoot aimlesly at goal and gesticulate to the Gladwys Street. Oh and give the ball away 9 times out of 10!
Sorry - made up my own game there. Who’s hiding behind the pillar today ???
M.Hottiger
P.Kroldrup
C.Tiler
P.Holmes - (worst player I Have ever seen)

Subs - R.Wright, E.Barrett, Mitch Ward, T.Phelan, I.Bakayoko

Any bad side has to include Mark Hottiger, Paul Holmes and big Brett Angel, although what on earth is he doing in our Masters team.
I struggled for centre backs too, but chose Bilic and Kroldrup on the basis they cost the club a fortune and only mustered a few games between them!

I thought steve simonsen had a promising start and showed some class reading of the game at first, he did fade heavily though but i think his started is enough to omit him from a bad line-up.
I was never a fan of Scot Gemmil, he was supposed always listed as our top passer but they were mostly backwards, or to a heavily marked player.
