Have just been on the official site. And Beside the riveting interview with that bastion of football greatness, Bjorn Borg? Timmy waxing lyrical about how he is looking forward to the Asia cup, I see we have now reached the depths of reverse auctions to keep us occupied.

Perhaps this is the way we are going to conduct our transfer dealings. Wait and wait until all the decent players have been snapped up and then go and buy in the bargain basement on the cheap. Fucking hell! I'm bored shitless with this close season mullarkey already, roll on the start of the season.

This has to be the worst ever close-season I can rememebr. Although the Sean Davies one was pretty hard on the nerves!

Yeah, i know what you mean, but to be fair it has been like that throughout the whole of the premiership and below. I have a feeling there will be a burst of signings in the coming few weeks, calm before the storm and all that.

Managers are tentative with over inflated prices due to this tv revenue, but as we are frustrated i reckon they are getting all ancy and know that by july 1st they all need to get their plans into gear.

Excuse me am I missing something here ? Besides the two purchases Manure have made and Parker/Barton, has anyone of note been signed outside of these deals ?

Worst close season? Try thinking back to 2004. Radzinski, Rooney - will he, wont he?,Granny shagging, Marcus Bent for £400k, open warfare in the Boardroom, couldn?t afford £2.5m for Michael Carrick, Carlton Cole in the Goodison Car park, turned down in favour of Leeds by Jermaine Wright!!!! That one was the worst culminating in a 4-1 thrashing at home on the Opening day and Rooney running off to Manure! Then it all got better! Maybe the darkest hour really is before the dawn....
