Patience is a virtue

Comments (1)

Everybody seems to be getting their knickers in a twist, or should I say boxer shorts?!

We all want to see some new worthwhile players joining EFC particularly in view of the fact that we are going back into Europe competition and for Billy Boy to splash the cash, but have a little patience guys - it will come right in the end, I am sure. Lots of players are still on holiday and therefore not available for discussion plus there are other aspects for delays. Just because Davey signed players early last year everyone seems to think he should have done the same this year. Granted, I do agree that such early signings were definitely beneficial from the point of pre-season training.

I’ve got to agree with the above post. Although it is frustrating that we haven’t secured any signings yet, it is worthwhile mentioning that no players who have had a solid link with us have moved elsewhere (with the possible exception of Joey Barton - and, quite frankly, we’re better off without). Last season we had signed two players by this point in the summer, but our hand was forced with at least Johnson - as Bolton and Wigan made the first moves.
Again, I agree with the point that it’s better to get players in early - but surely as long as they’re on board by the time pre-season training starts it won’t make a material difference.
So, sit back and try to enjoy the summer.... at least for the next couple of weeks!
