Black cats land Nuge

I have it on good authority that we've lost out on Nugent to Sunderland with the ditherer unable to make up his mind. I'm not too fussed to be honest as I believe Vaughany's a better prospect & McFadden (assuming he's staying) is a decent enough sub.
I also don't buy into all this panic around at the moment regarding transfers... we need about 5 players for sure but our first team (when all fit) is a decent team ? especially for the money Moyes has had over the years. Looks like we're gonna get Jags & a few more like that and I think we've got a squad that can do us proud next season.
Gotta get our Spanish spud contracted-up though!

"when all fit"... and ain't that the whole point? They are NEVER all fit; we ALWAYS have injuries; that's why we need a BIGGER SQUAD. That's why we need MORE PLAYERS.
The Daily Post is now giving us another negative on the transfer front, saying we're going to be priced out for Nugent, then going to chat shite again about a friendly!
This is pissing me off to the max now and I really can't see us signing anyone at all.
Two Unnamed clubs in for Nugent, according to the BBC website... With Everton being good at not telling people what they are doing, has to be a chance we are one of them!!!!!!
I will be gutted if Nugent goes elsewhere this summer... 2 clubs have made bids for him ? I'm guessing its West Ham and Sunderland. We have a chance to sign a guy who loves the club and it appears nothing's getting done about it. market is very tight this summer ? just take West Ham asking for 5 mil for Harewood ? enough said. I live in Sheffield and believe Jagielka is still holding out to see if The Blades stay up, which has lost Moyes patience.
I know, be patient is the cry. Well, I’m trying to be patient and another day goes by and still not even a sniff of a REALISTIC buy (except Jags and even that’s fraught with problems). Sounds like Nugent is on his way to Sunderland and although I accept that strikers isnt our priority, I would still have liked to see him in Royal Blue. So what next. Manny on loan, yes please...er, then what, or rather WHO? Dammit, the season hasnt even started yet and I feel I need a few therapy sessions. The suspense is killing me. Is it just me or is anyone else starting to fret just a little?

And then there were two.... But the big question is are we one of them?
Two unnamed clubs have been given permission to speak to David "The Nuge" Nugent but is Everton one of them? Can we afford the £7 million price tag?
All these questions need answered, does anybody know someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who works at the chippy across from Goodison who has seen Nugent entering the ground for talks?
If you were in Moyes’ position, knowing how much we’ve got to spend and where we need to strengthen - 6m in cash, now, for Nugent. Well, would you ’dither’? Be honest.
Has anyone seen Nugent at the Under-21 tournament. He may be a blue but he is never worth 6m, never mind with just 12m of his contract remaining
I can’t see what all the fuss is with Nugent. He was hardly outstanding in the U21 Euro’s and we shouldn’t just sign a player because he loves Everton. I love Everton a damn sight more than Nugent ever would but I can’t see Moyes signing me!!! We have Johnson, Vaughan, Anichebe, Beattie (unfortunately!), McFadden and also Cahill who can do a job up front. We don’t need another striker. We need 2 players down the left side, a central midfielder who can pass the ball and cover for centre half. I personally would let Nugent go elsewhere for stupid money and i’m willing to bet anybody on this mailbag £10 he doesn’t get more goals than Vaghan next season whoever he signs for.
I don’t care that he is a Blue, he is not worth anything near what they are demanding for him. I love Everton, does that qualify as a reason to sign me. The guy did not impress in the Under 21’s, only scored 15 goals last season in the Championship, and we don’t need another back up striker. Let him go to Sunderland for a huge fee. I for one think that Sunderland will be going right back down again next season. They have come up with the hype of being a solid team and could do what Reading did this past season, but I just don’t see it.
Your letter gives me the impression that you think we should sign Nugent because the guy loves Everton and is Royal Blue through and through. Glad you?re not the Manager!!
I think people are crazy to say we don’t need another striker! That translates as being happy to see Beattie still here next season. I’ve got no ill will towards Beattie, I really hoped it would work out for us... but it hasn’t!
My logic is that Beattie needs to be shipped out therefore another striker is a must, before or after the fat one is gone!
Hi Michael
You Seem to have mis-read my post somewhat. Sure, i voiced my opinion that i think we’ve got a decent side ’when all fit’, but i went onto say that we certainly need another 5 players or so (AS IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT FOOTBALLERS CAN GET INJURED FROM TIME TO TIME).
Thanks for helping to make the site what it is though- the work that you & the rest of fellas do is really appreciated amongst me & my mates...far better than that shitty looking fishy site!
I hope we don’t get Nugent. I think he would turn out just like Beattie i.e. an overpriced try-hard who just isn’t good enough for the top half of the premiership. Just right for the likes of West Ham or Sunderland. We’re better off sticking with what we’ve got (minus Beattie of course).
