Owen??

Comments (11)

Not usually one for all this FM stuff but -

Newcastle don't want Owen; Owen has a £10m escape clause in his contract; That other team in our city don't want him, Man U don't want him, Arsenal & Chelsea don't want him; he is a local lad, PROVEN PREMIERSHIP/INTERNATIONAL goalscorer and a boyhood blue!

Sell AJ to West Ham (£15m, as much as I would hate to see him go) then buy Owen, Fernandes, Nugent (thats maybe £25m). That surely improves the squad no end and only costs us £10m. If we add Jagielka and Baines (8m) to that as defensive players thats only £18m spent.

Forget the stadium - live in the NOW - splash the cash (realistically) and make us successful now!

Retard is a little harsh I feel!!

Just thought I’d try and liven up what is turning into a dark, wet and very boring close season.

Lets face it, no one else has come up with this one so it is at least an origional idea ;)

No, probably not. He is a similar player to AJ and unless he offloads him I can’t see it. Nugent is much more likely although I think we might be priced out of taking a risk on him.

I believe that Nugent/AJ/Vaughn/Anichebie/Beattie would be a fantsic forward ’squad’ leaving a couple of defenders and a midfielder to recrute.

As I said though - Nugent may just be too expensive.

We will see!!

Paul, sorry mate,

I’m a bit hyper today. Retard was a bit harsh.

Owen for £10 million though? I personally don’t think he’s worth that anymore.

Thats OK Steve!

Unfortunately with his injury record over the last couple of seasons it would be a gamble. If you could garuntee him for three quarters of the season he would be worth it but I think I would rather gamble £7m in Nugent.

Are you on another planet matey? I wish I could have a couple of glasses of what you are obviously on!!! And by the way, Michael Owen is not a local boy he is from North Wales and an ex shite player who would cost beyond our budget... no thanks.

No way do we need Owen , i’m not convinced we need a striker at all we need someone to create oportunities for AJ , Vaughan , Victor , BT and Jimmy Mac , Arteta can create from 1 side of the pitch but we need someone on the other side to do same thing , then also get a creative / defensive midfielder to play behind Tiny Tim
, other than those 2 we probably only need 2 full backs and a squad player to give us a realistic chance of repeating last seasons achievements !! But thats only my opinion
