Kieran Richardson

There's fresh rumours today linking us to Kieran Richardson again. I seriously hope this isn't true. Another Man Utd reject. I've seen a lot of Richardson and the only time I've been impressed with him is when he scored the two goals for England. Not a name that will get any Evertonians excited.
Does anyone know what the deal is between Man Utd and Everton? We are constantly linked with their players. Maybe Moyes thinks buying Man Utd players will bring back the glory days.

I don’t want that lad, he is arrogance personified. If he is anything like that dopey cousin of his (Charley from Big Brother) then he is a gobshite as well.
I wouldn’t mind him coming, we are crying out for some pace and width on the left. Two seasons ago people would be more excited about this move, could be worth twice as much in a years time. Our last two Man Utd rejects are doing ok for us, hopefully this one will do the same!
As for comparing him to his cousin - what are you talking about? I don’t like Charley mind :)

I just don’t rate the lad, he seems to be one of these Johnny Big Lads who has let the fame get to his already over-inflated head.
He is crap, really crap. If you watch England v Albania first time round it proves it. Lennon was beating the left back all game, then richardson came on and he got tackled evrey time he attempted to beat the same player.
Incredibly over-rated. However, Moyes is constantly linked with Man U players, but only 2 have ever been signed. Neville and Howard and both a good signings. So to claim Moyes believes signing Man U players is best is incorrect, it is roumers, probably created due to the Ferguson-Moyes both scottish, Fergie tried to sign Moyes as Assisant and they are decent friends. This however does not mean he will sign every Man U reject, its just enough so we get linked with every Man U reject. So signing 2 players from 1 club in 5 years hardly makes us a feeder club. Remember its just roumers, criticise Moyes when a deal is complete or if he admits so-and-so is a target, but not when some daily mail journalist with no real information makes up a roumer. Comment on the roumer is fine, all part of pre-season, but criticising the manager on the basis of a roumer is stupid.
Know he’s not everyones cup of tea but if we get him for 2-3m then perhaps worth a gamble. Not saying he is the ultimate answer, but who is on our left? Will give us balance. What has he actually done to be a big time charlie? Can’t say I’ve seen much of him over last year so haven’t got the insight that some of you have. What would a full season on the Everton left do for him though?
I think Signing Richardson would be a great move. I think the KR haters here have forgotten how well he did while on loan and playing every week at WBA, you cannot blame the lad for having a few off-games, Utd hardly ever use him and quite often chuck him on at left-back.
I really hope we get him; pacey, skillful, gets goals and left-footed.
...another sir gobshite hand-me-down (in payment for the collapse at goodison?), this lad has got diamond-earring bellamyesque twat written all over him, PLEASE NO!!!
Have faith! Davey hasn?t bought too many failures over his five years in charge ? and he is working within a tight budget this year. IF he says Jags, Brown and Richardson are good enough then you can be very confident they will be. But I just happen to think he has a surprise up his sleeve for us!
I am also sceptical about signing more Man United players. We have signed a few over the years and, apart from Andrei Kanchelskis, none of them seem to really stop being Manchester United players. Witness that swine Neville (who I will never forgive for scoring for his favorite team). So now comes another pair of cast-offs Wes Brown and Kieran Richardson ? both players Ferguson doesn?t rate. They both seem like controllable mediocrities.
I would love it if we bought Richardson. He?s a young player, with Champions League and international experience ? maybe a bit lucky to get the England call ups, but Ferguson would not have relied on him so often if he wasn?t the real deal. We desperately need a natural left winger, and here?s a player who fits the bill.

I honestly don?t think there can be a lot of the Rooney money left so Richardson for a couple of million could well be there or there abouts. I think for that money the fella would be a great addition.
He would provide us with natural width and pace in midfield, and also at a push fill in at left back. This would take the pressure off Arteta having to do everything in midfield, leaving him free to play in that preferred central midfield role. It would also leave Lescott free to play at centre-half, instead of being pushed out to left-back for every other game. Having a pacy midfielder to compliment AJ?s pace up front would also help take some of the pressure off him.
Also, if Moyes is serious about the flowing football we saw at times last season then Richardson?s pace and width would help with this.
I’m with most people on Richardson that he thinks he’s better than he is, but I think Moyes might have one eye on him....stranger things have happened. Lets be honest there’s only been Pat Nevin since Sheedy who was consistent for more than 1 season as an out and out winger and he didn’t exactly set the world alight.(All the others we’ve had inc Kanchelskis only did it in sporadic bursts and he cost more than most of the squad today). Considering we used to have a tradition of good wingers, we’ve had some rubbish through the doors in the last twenty years. Richardson may be better than some we’ve had, but I reckon if he did arrive he’d still have to force his way into the 1st team and shake off that playboy image he’s been portrayed as possessing.
How can you call Kanchelskis?s 16 goals from midfield in his first season sporadic bursts? And we sold him for more than we bought him.
