Flamini

Comments (13)

Been seeing some rumours about Mathieu Flamini signing after the 1st July on a free. I think he would be a decent buy and Moyes likes him as he tried to buy him before he joined the Gooners.

He would be a great Bosman signing. And, having missed out on him the first time (if I remember correctly, Arsenal stole him from under our noses at the 11th hour), I would be very surprised if he doesn't at least make a solid enquiry. As ever, wages might be a big stumbling block.

Agreed, he’s a top player, he is certainly a candidate as a long term replacement for carsley.

Yep that sounds about right.
Flamini will leave the free flowing football of Arsenal to come and play welly ball at Everton.
What you need to do is wise up and realise that apart from Kenwright being a muppet one of the main reasons we cant attract decent players is Moyes and his brand of footy.

If you were a skillfull young player with ambition would you come here and watch the ball flying over your head all day?

No you wouldnt. I am suprised Arteta has signed up for 5 more years of torture as he is far to good to play in the Everton system.
Next season is already becoming a waste of time and we have yet to kick a ball. Why is that you might ask?
My answer would be lack of money ,lack of signings and most importantly lack of ambition.

Its going to be a long hard slog thats for sure.At least Moyes will have a boss Bronzy when he gets back.

What are you about Tony. I think Flamini would be quite lucky to secure a swoop like this. he has never really become part of the Arsenal X1, and is clearly not established enough to go into a top european side. Toffee first team football is his level, he will be an important part an unlike at Arsenal be a regular in our side. Off course there is one big issue - money. I would not be surpriced to see him sign for Birmingham or something. Now whats that about!

Christ Tony! Calm down! The season hasn’t started yet. OK so Everton’s footy isn’t Brazil but with better playes then we’ll start to play more attractive football. Flamini will help create a better side.
A little cynicism is fine but calm down mate.

Tony, I think you need to find something else to fill your time mate. Read the obituaries or something, cheer yourself up.You are the only person who could find an angle to slag off Artetas new contract. Sometimes I think you are being deliberately controversial to stir up debate, sometimes I just think your a miserable twat. Right now I'm going for the latter. Get a grip mate.

Tony, if next season is already a waste of time, then fuck off and support the ?free flowing football? of Arsenal that you so obviously crave! Everton don?t need ?fans? like you!!!

Tony, I live in Australia and we have a name for people like you: Miserable Cunt. Cheer up, mate. Five years ago, players like Arteta would laugh at us; now he wants to stay for five more years ? or, as you put it, wasted seasons. That's why he plays every week with passion for our club.

Look at him and learn what its like to want to be an Evertonian.

Ok maybe a little over the top but the lack of transfer activity is leading me to belive all is not well at EFC. I have seen this scenario all too often in my time watching the Blues and under Moyes it has been as bad as any time in the past. Dithering and pussy footing about when it comes to signing players is what we are best at so why should I be brimming with confidence?

Honestly, how many more false dawns do you lot have to live through before you wake up? I would love to be ultra-positive but I can't. The 2004-05 season is still fresh in the memory banks and it looks like we are headed down the same road again this pre-season.

Watching Darren Bent sign for Spurs yesterday hit home how much of a ditherer Dave really is. Bent was offered to us for £2.7M 2 years ago but we chose Beattie instead. Look at the values now and tell me you are happy.

Its got nothing to do with being miserable MATES its all to do with facing up to the reality of what EFC always do when they have a chance to push forward... FUCK ALL USUALLY.

Yes, Moyes has a history of being a good-season, bad-season manager, even when he was with Preston. He panic-purchased a few years ago with Krøldrup and Van der Meyde, who are not any good. I think he learned from that and last year with AJ, Howard and Lescott he made brilliant choices. Even under him our bad seasons have been better than what we have had to endure for a very long time.

I believe he has his targets and learning from previous years of showing interest and getting beaten at the post will keep them close to his chest. We do need players, quality players who will fit into our club spirit. These days, they are few and far apart. But in saying that please let's not get to mid July and unveil Richardson and Smith...

Tony Marsh returns to slate the club. And he managed to find negativity in Arteta and Cahill securing their future here, AMAZING!!!!! You have become a total joke, Marsh, you know that right? It takes a certain type of player to play free flowing football, which Moyes did not have to start but has been trying to build. And the price-tag for Bent was ridiculous and in no way justified.

We signed AJ last year, how much do you think he would go for now if he were for sale? What about Arteta, we signed him for £2M ? how much would he be worth? How much would we get for Lescott now if we sold him? Oh, but wait, we don?t have to sell these players now. We have the entire team that finished 6th last season locked up for the future.

But we have more than that actually. We didn?t have Cahill for most of the year and throughout the finish but he?s healthy now. We didn?t have Vaughan for the first three quarters of the season but he?s back and showed what he can do. AJ had an ankle injury all season and missed the run-in but he has had that fixed and should be healthy now.

So we have not sold one of the pieces that got us 6th and barely missed 5th last season, have gotten rid of Pistone and Wright, and are healthy with the same chemistry inside the club that was so good last year. And we will be securing transfers soon, as will everybody. In case you haven?t noticed, the transfer market has been quiet all around.
