Note the date well. Friday, 13th July, 2007. The day Everton officially became a small club. The day the manager finally admitted he was not in a position to compete with other Premier League clubs in the transfer market. A sad day indeed. But then I guess we knew it all along.

Nah, in Chairman Bill we trust! Long way 'til transfer deadline day. Still plenty of time to spend some of that mortgage given by Barclays Bank in April!

Your spot on Brian.We have been hiding behind all this,he’s not worth the money shite.When the cold facts are were skint.Fulham have spent £15m already.And before everyone gets on their high-horse,and says "look who they have bought for that money",a load of shite.Thats not my point.A small club like Fulham are going to out-spend us. my point is how can a small club like them have the money and we don’t?And it’s not just going to be Fulham who out-spend us,it will probalby be most of the prem.I will say once again,it is not who they have bought,it is how they have the money to spend,but we don’t.
