I can't believe, well I can from Doddy, that some posters are happy with the suggestion/accusation that BK is keeping money to pay for Kirkby on the basis that once we've got the stadium we will be able to compete for better players. Liverpool have announced that they hope to complete their stadium by 2010 and as they have already sorted the inquiries, planning permission, traffic management etc that probably puts us about 2 years behind them.
I can't even be arsed pointing out the flaws in this supposed 'plan' but if you think we will have held on to our best players or even the manager after five more years of waiting to 'push on' then send me your address because I've got some double glazing to sell and you seem perfect target customers.
Oh and just a little food for thought: this is the first year that clubs have had extra cash to spend creating inflated prices, there are at least 2 more to come.

Just one question for you. Given the state of our finances right now, we cannot afford a new stadium and loads of quality players together at the same time. As it looks like we?re lumbered with the current muppet show of a Board as well, how do you suggest we pay for players and a stadium, both at the same time?
In my own mind we can?t, end of. The solution as I put it today is to keep improving the overall quality of the squad as we have been under the last few transfer windows, while putting what money we can aside for a stadium deal of whatever finalised version.
If you?re going to disagree with people?s opinions, fair play to you.It?s what this website is all about and you are right to exercise your opinion. But please do exercise it. Telling people they?re wrong and then saying that you couldn?t be arsed to explain why just makes you seem lazy and unjustifiably sarcastic.
