Our Club Is A Joke!

Comments (12)

Just when you think Everton could not get more inept at business they go and do it.

My friend from Manchester has just come down to visit after I had my first son about 4 weeks ago. He told me he had to go to the Trafford Centre to buy him an Everton kit because ? wait for it ? the club megastore was shut!!! He is a Man Utd fan and could not believe what was going on.

For FUCKS SAKE! no wonder weve got no fuckin money! 2 days after we launch a new away kit, our own shop is shut of a weekend! Yes, ladies and gents, our megastore is only open Monday to Friday. It seriously beggars belief. How many other Premier League club stores do you think are shut today? None but ours i think you will find.

And this is just the latest example of how much of a muppet of chief exec is. The other clanger was the football memorabelia. For the paultry sum of £1m we could of bought the collection ourselves. Stadium tours are the biggest money spinner clubs have when not actuallt playing football. This was also a fantastic, no ONLY opportunity they had of trying to smooth over a stadium move. Fans are up in arms about a move from GP because of history/heritage etc and we could have bought the biggest collection of football memorabelia in the world, put it in our new shed/stadium and at least, at very least brought some of that Goodison history with us. But what do we do???? We go begging and scrounging to the National Lottery asking for a grant so we can dissplay it in town FREE of CHARGE! It should have been the quickest million we've ever spent but we've gone and fucked that one as well.

There are more examples... the fact you can't buy a pint at the match cos they have 4 poeple working behind the couter to save on overheads etc

BK and KW are absolute fuckin muppets and are not capable of running a football club as a money making business. In fact I wouldn't trust one of the bastards to get a round in cos they'd probably fuck that up an all.

If we are ever gonna make money and compete in europe every year they need to fuck off, quickly. theyre turning our club into an absolute joke!

I'm that pissed off that I'm actaully considering allowing my 4-week-old son to be a kopite ? it kills me to say it but at least they seem to know how to run a football club.

This is not negative, this is reality. They have got a clue.

I agree, all clubs are trying their best to take steps forward. For the past few years now, the Board seem to be content on us making steps backwards. Everything about the club is a joke.

Don?t know about you, but having ?our? history and heritage displayed for free is a lot better than making us pay for it it.

I?m guessing from what you saying that your disgusted that we had a price freeze on season tickets becasue the club should have increased the price more to make money. I?m not for that. Having our history and heitage available to see for all in the city of Liverpool, not some over-priced tour for directors to make a few bob.

Besides, stadium tours aren?t the biggest earners during pre-season period, all money comes in way of sponsorship and merchandising. Tours offer a few quid extra, but nothing that will sign a world-class player.

Also on the Club store thing, if it's closed it will be because it was making no money, so shutting it actually gives the club money as no wages are needed to be spent. Also, during pre-season weekends mot many people visit Goodison so the club store will be totally dead, obviously.

At least it looks as though Kieran Richardson is heading to Sunderland, close to £6 million for that piece of shit. Roy Keane needs his head examined.

Finally some good transfer news for Everton.

Its hard to sign a petition when Everton just finished 6th and qualified for Europe. The truth is things are very good at the moment. Ask me again at Christmas if we are struggling.

I think that John Cottee is mixing two entirely different things. 1. The commercial side of the club is and always has been a joke , when we had rich owners and directors it wasn’t such a big deal, but now we are struggling financially it is bordering on criminal. After all how much does it cost to keep a shop open on a Saturday from 10-4, six hours x 3 staff at minimum wage? 2. The playing side of the club, whilst not perfect is a damn sight better than it ought to be considering our financial ineptitude. Any number of petitions will fail to remove BK from his position at the helm of the club. If in the unlikely event that a number of EFC Season Ticket holders won the National Lottery every draw until Christmas, then created a winners consortium with the intention of buying Blue Bill’s shares, I have the feeling that he would turn down their offer as well. Perhaps and this is only supposition there is something in the closet that we as Evertonians would not be pleased to see.

Go be a kopite then. After what you just wrote you should never set foot in Goodison again. Actually, do me a favor and print that out, go to the derby, and give that to the group of Evertonians sitting next to you.

A good club needs to have a thread of sound business management running all the way from the beer sellers to the Chief Exec. The ethos of good practise should be beaten into every employee at every opportunity. We are hearing that the club is skint, okay, so from top to bottom they should be looking at ways of saving money and equally, how to increase their revenue/income stream. If we are looking at five or ten year business plans then someone within the club should be looking at how to capture the next generation of customers. Perhaps they are doing that and the new stadium is the centre piece of that plan but even while they may be thinking big, they have to look after the pennies too. Here’s an example of money being wasted.
A friend and I purchased season tickets last week in May for the GS, Church side. Only a few weeks later we got letters, along with many others I believe, to say that a raised viewing area was to be built in that location and we would have to change seats. The letter said that they had been waiting for planning approval. They kindly offered a 20% discount for the inconvenience, which I gladly accepted and moved seats.
My point is that the club must have been aware of the planning application months before the ticket renewals so why not inform people at the time? Okay, I’ve had a refund of £90+ but the club has lost £90 X whowever many people it had to move - all for the sake of telling people what might happen if the planning application was approved.
That is careless and shoddy mismanagement.
Hardly going to break the bank but indicative of the way the club is run financially. No wonder there’s no money.

To David Barks

another who cannot read, i said i was considering allowing my son to be a kopite! at the moment he has no choice he is an evertonian because i am, but if we continue to fuck things up i was saying that i might not force it upon him i might let him choose his own team.
And another thing i dont need to print it out ive just put it on the internet were it is accesible to billions!
My problem is not with the team and manager its with the business and commercial side of the club and i stand by my rant, were shite at it!

Yeah, you posted it on the net because you can now go out without anyone knowing who you are and what you said. Paste a picture of yourself next to your post so that when you go to the pub or to Goodison to watch a game the person next to you might have read what you wrote and know what you look like. Then you’re words would have consequence. Who would take your young son to Anfield? It would be you right, so would you wear your blue jersey? I hope it would be you taking him, otherwise some kopite would steal his seat without buying a ticket, they seem to be quite good at that over there.

I sit in seat 133 row PP in lower Gwladys!

I stand by everything I said, our club is run by fuckin muppets who are never gonna make us any money on the business/commercial side of football. Actually they are liars and thieves. Not only dont we have our normal sky money this year, we seem to be without the ?extra? money all premiership clubs got. Its going somewere and it certainly isnt on the pitch! Kenwright was spose to be going to tell the fans the truth and be honest with us...what a load of bollocks!

Im more than happy to discuss it at the wigan game.
