What about my motor?

Sunday People, 15 July 2007 ANDY'S FERRARI ANNOYS MOYES Edited By Tom Hopkinson DAVID MOYES isn't best pleased that Andy van der Meyde is driving around in a smarter motor than his.
The Everton boss has taken a fancy to the new Mercedes CL and approached club bigwigs about getting one.
But the class of car that particular model comes under would exceed his monthly motor allowance and Everton top brass vetoed the bid.
Confidentially, we understands Moyes, quite rightly, fought back with the fact that Goodison misfit Van der Meyde was driving round in a flash Ferrari ... without even being a first-team regular. But to no avail.

I'm not being funny Moysie, but if you can't afford a decent motor on your money then I'll show my ass on the Town Hall steps!

bad timing DM, one minute we’ve got no cash for players, next minute you’re upset because you can’t have a new Merc. What about those of us who live in the real world and have to manage on a couple of hundred quid a week rather than several thousand pounds a week? I hope you werent expecting any sympathy! I wonder if this story was leaked deliberately?

Is about image and at the moment Everton’s image is in the shitter. No money, poor stadium and now the manager’s driving around in a banger.
Everton are supposed to be one of British footballs most prestige clubs and Moyes should have a car appropriate to his position.

Didn’t I read somewhere that Wyness swans round in a Bentley?CEOs of his limited ability are ten a penny-there’s only one Davey Moyes!Experience has taught me that if you want to really piss off an employee, you restict his car allowaance. Is this the beginning of the end for our saviour?

This story was doing rounds over the weekend. All sourced from the same silly football rumour site. It's just bunkum.

There was no quote from moyes in this so-called article, no even the usual dubious inside source. Treat it with the contempt all lazy journalism deserves

Presumably all the other clubs in the Premier League are prespending the extra millions that they will be receiving from the ne TV deal. Obviously Everton are not doing this which begs the question - what exactly is going to happen to the cash? It seems to me that there can only be two alternatives:
1: pay down the debt.
If EFC don’t splash out on new players they should be able to clear their debt by the end of the season.
2.retain cash for investment in new stadium
maybe a downpayment on the new digs is going to be needed
Whatever the reason, maybe the club should just let supporters know.
