Wyness the magician

Having just had another pointless look at the gossip columns, I was thinking about our currrent money issues. This close season we haven't spent a penny. By selling Simon Davies to Fulham for £3M last season and Naysmith to Sheff Utd for £1M, we got Jagieljka without dipping into any of our 'transfer fund'.

So Wyness must have said abracadabra and 'poof' all of our TV money, our 'extra' TV deal money, league position money and season ticket revenue has magically vanished into thin air. And I got slaughtered on here about 3 weeks ago for telling you all that we were holding back £30M+ for the stadium that we don't want but that will get the go-ahead.

Signed that kenwright out petition online but its no good getting rid of him if we dont get rid of Wyness who in my opinion is the worst culprit at our beloved football club.

Agree with you for the largest part, but just to let you know: Season ticket revenue is mortgaged as far as I know, no extra income there...

Oh and I think we do have some money to spend, it’s just that is isn’t much. And we spent part of this years tv-money last year.

Ok, let me recapitulate: I do agree with you about it being strange that we appear to have little money to spend, but I think your message is a bit short-sighted, tbh.

Eric, i hear what your saying but let me ask you this. We were told a couple of seasons back that we budget for staying in the prem ie 18th and the revenue that generates. So buy finishing 12 places above that were is our minimum £6m? we should at least have that surely? As i said above the Jagielka outlay has already been balanced.

If it was alright to spend some of this years tv-money last year, what is wrong with spending some of next years tv-money this year?

How can you claim that the money has been put back for a stadium WE don’t want? It may have been put back for the new stadium but just because you don’t want it doesn’t mean the rest of us don’t.

So Sean you would rather watch a thread bear squad on the bones of its arse come january in a stadium with 15000 empty seats? than see a squad with depth in a packed goodsion?!?

If we have £30 million put to what side for Kirkby why can’t we use that to start redevloping Goodison, after all if you start with the Bullens and the Park end and put all the executive boxes in there it will be paying for itself straight away (obviously the council will have to give us a little more land around the edges first).
