Vote Yes to Kirkby!
Comments (17)
What an exciting day for "eligible" Evertonians. At last the opportunity to vote for the most important development in the Club's history. Over the past months we have been inundated with anti-propaganda but in our hearts, I am sure most of us accept that Kirby (sic) is the right move to make. In reality it is the ONLY move we can make as the finance for any alternative simply doesn't exist. So, if you have a vote, VOTE YES to KIRKBY. I know you won't regret it!

whilst i remain undecided - (well unwilling to post my vote in public) what i do applaud the peoples club for doing is allowing the people to have what i hope will be the final say -good on you everton

I’m sorry to dissapoint you Nick, but if you read tonight’s Echo, it only says that the Directors will consider the vote in what will be their decision. It does not say that they will use the vote as a referendum. In effect the board will have the final say, whilst at the same time fulfilling their promise to allow the fans to have their say.

Doddy, I realise you have problems with reality so I will type this in big letters just for you: HOW CAN YOU SAY WE WON'T REGRET IT WHEN, LIKE THE REST OF US, YOU'RE CLUELESS?
What worries my is the change of words to consider the result. It should be binding as promised. Iif it is to move I will reluctantly accept the decision; so, by the same score, Billy Liar should accept a "No" vote... but I don?t trust him anymore, so I won't hold high hopes.

?The Final say? ??? You are having a giraffe, Nick. The only way the vote will have any true bearing is if a massive No vote ( say 80-20 ) happens. It might just make them come back with something better. A massive Yes would mean we get no say at all in design I guess as BK would take it as a mandate to do as he pleases.
Of course, we don?t yet have much idea about the stadium itself ( although it has looked a bit like Prenton Park in the pics so far! ), but assuming it?s a Cologne lookalike built in Kirkby, it?s not caught my imagination.
Come on Everton, fire my imagination!! Something different and more importantly unique. You could argue we may never get another opportunity like this so vote Yes or you could vote No and force them to find a better alternative in a better location. Not decided for sure yet, but I?m about 80% No. It?s up to the Club to convince me... something they hae failed so far to do. I?m waiting for a pleasant surprise... could be a long wait!! :)

How the fuck do you know there are no other options? They havent talked to the Liverpool council yet because they have been in talks with Kirkby.
I can tell you I will be voting no to Kirkby. Why should we move out of the city? We are a Liverpool club not a Knowsley. And while that may not bother you It bothers me and lots more of evertonians. We will lose fans inside Liverpool. We are already losing fans through lack of success and if you pull the club out of the city we lose even more. Who will the younger generation identify with? A liverpool club or a knowsley club.

How many times do you think you have to convince us you?re a tit Doddy? Anyone who votes for something they haven?t even seen, without even knowing if we will own it or whether a proportion of the ?profits? will be payable until the year dot to Tesco/KMB,is a fucking idiot, in your case that?s already taken as read.

Richard, it aint going to happen. The residents of Kirkby don’t want it to, the majority of fans don’t want it to. Only if they gerrymander the vote would they claim any kind of mandate - something that even the most corruppt local government officers wouldn’t get away with. (No offence meant mate!)
Not even Bill would risk incurring the wrath of the fans on this one. Better to take a bit longer and do it right.

Richard, I will have a vote and am unsure of which way to go at the moment but I have to say that your ’let’s go to Kirkby otherwise we’re dooomed’ post has got me thinking that I would have to vote against a move. I have never agreed with anything you’ve ever said so far so it’s giving me the gitters just thinking that our thought processes may be converging!
Seriously though, Richard, save your energy, I doubt whether the vote will make much difference either way - the board will do what they choose and what they feel is in THEIR best interests.
No offence Richard, everyone is entitled to an opinion and an opportunity to voice it but you do seem to be very pro everything that BK, the board, DM does or says, without exception. There must be times when you don’t agree? Musn’t there?

Lue,I’m not in favour of government by referendum as I believe we elect our leaders to make decisions without further reference to the hoi polloi. It therefore follows that I see the vote for/against Kirkby as totally unnecessary as I believe it is the Board’s decision to make alone.
Suedo democracy satisfies nobody -just look at the criticism the Club is receiving over holding this ballot!

Ok Richard, since you said so, I’ll vote for Kirkby.
My NO vote is also a vote of NO CONFIDENCE in this corrupt chairman and his cronies.

Reading these items, each and every blue is entitled to an opinion. I hope its the way we will eventually make our decisions on the issue. I Think the rude replies begger belief, especially as most of them whilst calling Richard Dodd names actually go on to contribute Fuck all to the debate except "Im not moving and thats that" Grow up and give us the reasons and alternatives, otherwise its you that look like the "TIT". Im also taking my ball home and not playing out with you any more !!!!!!

Richard a minor point, you didn’t elect your beloved Chairman Bill or any members of the board as money talks or in Bill’s case he blagged his mate to lend him the cash then gave him the shaft. Psuedo anything stinks Richard as have the emanations of "24/7" since he has been in power. We have our own choices to make and mine is a firm no, no to the move and given the chance which, unfortunately, none of us have no to Chairman Bill and his ongoing atrocious mismanagment.
And all without name calling.

Couldn’t agree with you more Hudders. And to correct Gavin,Kenwright WAS elected chairman by his fellow directors who,in turn, were elected by the shareholders of Everton FC.It’s the way all companies operate and is no more corrupt than any other.Doddy’s absolutely right, the directors should make a decision on the ground and not seek to hide behind the fans. You don’t find Tesco asking their shoppers where to build a store-do you?

We are moving no matter what the season-ticket holders say. GET USED TO IT.... "Thank fuck" I say.

The idea of moving, emotions aside, didnt seem that bad at all to me at first. I was given further encouragement when I read of the ’traditional’ stadium design. What does genuinely scare the shit out of me however is the notion that our beloved and historical football team could be playing home games at a commercially named stadium- live from the tesco arena; Everton vs Manchester United. Both worrying and degrading.
