Yobo to Stuttgart?!

Comments (6)

It may only be a rumour at the moment, but I think allowing Joseph Yobo to leave would be a huge mistake. He's made some howlers in his time, sure, but he and Lescott were instrumental in keeping our GA column comparitively low last term. Moyes being linked with Sol Campbell and not issuing a hands off warning to Stuttgart only strengthens the possibility that Everton are resigned to losing him. Probably for a knock-down fee!

Who says he?s going to be allowed to leave ?

He signed a new contract last summer to my recollection and it?s not Moyes?s style to sign ageing players on huge contracts, ie, Sol Campbell.

A Knock-down fee? Why?

If Campbell comes as cover for Yobo who is away with Nigeria in January, then that would be ok as far as I’n concerned.

If Yobo is allowed to leave for Campbell, then I’d seriously consider asking for my season ticket money back.

Fortunately, I don’t see that happening.

Just worthless rumour mongering.

Pure paper talk, I think you’ll find.

If there’s one saving grace from this frustratingly inactive summer, it’s that our key players have been relatively free from the silly season speculating. Rather, they’ve actually signed up for longer and committed themselves to the cause. Now if we could just find a few worthy lads to help them out.......3 weeks left!

Ste, actually there is more like 6-7 weeks left. The transfer market closes at the end of August, so there is plenty of time, but sooner rather than later would be best.

There is no way Moyes will let Yobo go unless the player wanted to and I don?t think he does - he?s always seemed pretty settled and only signed a long term deal last summer.
As for Campbell - no chance - he is the last type of player Moyes would sign - massive wages, lack of hunger/ambition, over 30, no sell on value
