A vote on something where there is no 'Plan B', hmmm.

Liverpool's stadium £250M, ours £75M (before Leahy's staff discount. Didn't realise profit margins for construction were that big, but hey), hmmm, World class facilities, hmmm. Tesco pay £50M for the land, got that. KMB reinvest the £50M into the Kirkby Town Centre Project, which will double the size of the Town Centre, pay for relocation of residents/facilities, improve access and pay for the stadium, which costs, £50M, hmmm. lost me again.

KMB giving us all that money for nothing more than the prospect of giving all the unemployed in Kirkby fast food or licensed trade careers, how nice are they? Salt of the bloody earth in my opinion.

'More or less debt free' oh, 'compared to clubs like Arsenal' hmmm, does that mean more or less free of ADDITIONAL debt? (having nothing, spending 'nothing' equals, same amount of debt?)

Current debt equals little or no money for quality players, current debt plus new stadium, (in 3-4 years?) equals EXTRA £10m for players, hmmm.

Knew I should have paid more attention in Maths lessons 'cos I'm sure it all makes sense, after all 'we will be getting a very nice(?!, not the words I was hoping for, state of the art, world class?) stadium for a small amount of money', NSNO?.

Not to mention a dispicable association with a company that is complicit in paying Bangladeshi workers 4p an hour for 80 hour weeks

4p a hour in Bangladesh sounds a bit over the top to me.

Everton FC management is a joke. No Plan B?

Even the Myanmar junta did put up Aung Sung Su Kyi as Plan B in the 1989 elections.

And Bill?s supposed to be working 24/7?

He is! He found his Jason didn’t he? Oh, hang on a minute...
Seriously though, this seems to be the only real choice we have. We move or we slowly fall into obscurity.

So you want a Plan B ?

Isn’t ’Plan B’not moving to Kirkby and staying at Goodison ?

Easy to be flippant, isn’t it ?

Perhaps the voting form will look something like the following:-

THE CLUB WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGISE FOR THE USE OF CLEAR PLASTIC BUT AT LEAST IT MAKES THE VOTE TRANSPARENT

If you want Everton Football Club to die quickly and move to Kirkby tick the YES Box

If you want Everton Football Club to die very very very slowly and stay at Goodison Park tick the NO Box

In the unlikely event of a plan ’B’ materialising during your lifetime, the Board of Directors reserve the right to ignore any such approaches as this would require more visionary people than we currently have at the club at the moment.

NB save your Tesco loyalty points for your Great-Grandchildren as you never know when they may come in useful.

Simple question: Will Everton own this new stadium outright or be tennants... does anyone know? It is not clear to me from Bully's sale pitch...

I had a season ticket for 8 years prior to moving to Sydney and susequently to London so I am not a light-hearted fan. I have followed us through some of the toughest times in the clubs history including the Peter Johnston era and I am concerned about how the powers thst be at the club are holding the fans to randsom.

The stadium move out of the City of Liverpool is not what the majority of Everton fans want, we have the biggest walking support in the country ? how are those fans catered for in this proposal? They say we are being consulted but then on the BBC website they say there is no plan B and that if we don't accept then there will be serious consequences for the club. That is a threat it is not a public consultation by any means.

I'm writing to you because I believe this is a good forum for debate. I have moved from the area and so I can only say its a matter of pride that makes me feel so passionate about this. I love Goodison but realise that the club will have to move but not out of Liverpool, we do not want 'them' to have the satisfaction of being the only club in the city. There has to be a plan B, there was Kings Dock and we lost out, we also lost out with Stanley Park. What's going on here, there must be other options or are we the next MK Dons? When we move down the road will we end up sending all our silverware from the past back to FC Everton?

KW says will could have a "very nice stadium." We don't want a very nice stadium, we want an amazing, incredible, magnificent stadium (like the Kings Dock plan) and to hear it could be up and running by 2010 almost confirms the new stadium is some sort of flat-packed/Mecano structure that can be assembled in minutes.

Am I being over-sensitive or do other Evertonians find the Fat Controller's statement on the proposed move arrogant and pompous? I find the whole affair has the smell of stinking fish about it, it's all too cosy for words. Leahy is too smart by half to be giving us £50M just because he likes Pantomine Bill. From thinking it wasn't the end of the world to move to the outer limits I now have grave doubts about it. Let's hope Liverpool CC come up with some other option before we are railroaded out of the city...

Basically the only thing I am concerned about regarding this move to Kirkby is the distance between Kirby and Everton. All I know is that it looks close on Google Earth, is 4.4 miles and a 15-minuute drive away on Google Maps. There is talk that it will soon become outer Liverpool and isn't Stubby from there?

I don't think we should move out of Liverpool because we were the first club but, if we are just 15 mins away from Goodison and its considered outer Liverpool, then we should go for it.

Oh please...give us a break from all these depressives! There is no Plan B because a Plan B requires somebody else to pay for a Plan B stadium and there is nobody queuing up to do that.

As for the ?cheapness? of the stadium, most of the cost of projects like these arise from the acquisition of land and in this case the land is coming for nowt. Personally I don?t give a shit how much Liverpool's stadium is going to cost, I?m more interested in Everton.

If anybody doubts Wyness?s words about Goodison not being fit for purpose in 10 years I recommend the doubters take off their tear-stained glasses and take a good long look at the place! If it doesn?t fall down eventually it will be condemned as unsafe. I take no solace in saying that because I?ve been going to Goodison for more than 50 years and now we are paying the price for decades of mismanagement and neglect and it is unfair to blame the present incumbents entirely for this predicament.

One of the problems in this debate over all these months is that all the Plan B?s have been pies in the sky with wonderful alternative sites proposed but with nobody tackling the problem of how they would be funded. I was once told off for using this phrase, but at pain of execution I will use it again... ?Get real Evertonians?

If we move to our nice(beggars cant be choosy )stadium How much is the cost to Everton, will we own said stadium,is Bully&BILL (sound like a comedy act) vision as a nice ground comparable with what we fans consider as nice, If its so good why do I get the feeling there keeping things back from us

Dave Roberts is correct in stating
that a large part of overall cost relates to the acquisition of the land on which the stadium is to be built. That being the case, does anybody know how much Liverpool City Council (and their sore-pressed Community Charge payers) are receiving from the good ol’ boys from stateside for the grade II listed Parkland. If the overall cost of the project is £280m. then surely our Council must be expecting to receive a sizeable wedge for a large part of Stanley Park. Perhaps Cllr. Bradley could let us know as I am sure he visits Toffeeweb......being such a staunch Blue.
