Clever spin, or just clever?

Here is my take on this?

KW has played a blinder and no-one has seen it coming, after all, stating the ground was going to cost £75MM will obviously get Evertonians' backs up when we already know Liverpool?s is going to cost in excess of £250M. I believe this is a ?get-out? clause for the Everton Board now they realise the magnitude of opposition. KW has given the vote when no other club who has moved ground ever has...why? Because of the KEIOC campaign, maybe but I don?t think so? The fans will vote an over-whelming ?NO? and the Board will walk away with a clear conscience and a mandate to do fuck all ? after all ?We tried our best?.

It seems very clear that we will have no money to invest in either new players or a new ground for the foreseeable future; all the Board have to do is sit back and blame the ?unimaginative fans? for the demise which will patently follow.

KEIOC, the Walton chippies and pubs may well have their day yet; however, in my opinion, it will be a shallow victory once the fall-out has settled. We will all be asking the question ?What now?? and there will be simply no answers. KW and the Board know that KEIOC and Liverpool City Council have not come up with any REALISTIC alternatives and can only show some ?back of the fag packet? drawings dusted off from 10-15 years ago for the regeneration of GP.

As for a Plan B, will the Everton Board then chance another scheme within the boundaries of Liverpool, knowing that the investment and Council and fan support is simply NOT there? I know there are lots of clubs being taken over with huge investment plans; however, I would prefer to see how that all pans out before we sell our own soul to another American wannabe.

If a ground is going to cost £250-£300M (yes, not much when you say it quickly) then we have to ask ourselves how this is ever going to be achieved. Some Everton fans think all we have to do is find a site in Liverpool, wait three years and move into our new ?council home? fully paid up by mmmm? well, by someone. This is simply not going to happen.

I would urge all Evertonians who have the opportunity to vote (for all the Everton fans that can?t) to think and use their votes wisely, this is even more important than any general election you may vote for in the future.

I just don't understand how you can be so sure of these potential outcomes. And then base your entire thread on what is, let's face it, an unknown outcome of the vote at this stage. There are more claiming it will be a landslide in favour... is this your attempt at reverse psychology?
