EvertonTV

This posting is aside from the usual regarding the team, staff, stadium debate - it's to do with one of the 'service' that Everton offers it's fans.

Like a few people I know, I tried out EvertonTV last year during the preseason games but found that the internet connection at home wasn't sufficent for watching highlights let alone for streaming live games so I didn't renew after the first month.

Anyway, one year and one house move on I received an e.mail from Everton stating that, if I subscribed to BT Broadband, I'd get EvertonTV for a year. After a little research showed that my broadband speed would be twice what it was I subscribed to BT. However, I received no guidance on how I would receive my EvertonTV subscription. Since then I have emailed Everton directly twice and the EvertonTV contact at Servecast twice but have received no reply (even though I've had read receipts from Servecast!).

To me this seems indicative of the marketing push that was introduced when Wyness became Cheif Exec - all style and no substance. All of a sudden you could buy any old tat with an EFC crest on it, but still there's no permanent city centre venue to purchase these from ? only a stand in JJB right next to the much larger LFC promotions.

Has anyone else suffered these problems with EvertonTV ? if so any suggestions how I sort them out?

Hi Gareth

I live in Mexico and took the EFC service at the beginning of last season for a month.

I have a Mac and that is a major problem in itself for EFC TV which they say is to be sorted out some time in the future.

They do not say when.

After doing some stuff with this computer , the service was good enough for me to seek a refund and extend for 12 months.

that was done quickly and efficiently and mostly the commentary from Hornie etc on local radio has been worth having the service as I saw 32 Everton Premier games on TV last season ....mostly live but a few on delay on our satellite provider ....and it is good to have the Everton commentary nearly alongside it.

I contacted tham about renewal this summer and the service was shocking .

After three attempts , they came up with a solution that should be OK .

I was not impressed but suggest that you just keep at them and eventually , with luck , they will agree to take your money.

No wonder EFC 2007 is skint eh ?

After much hounding by my little lad,I have got the everton tv.Now for the big question.I am woeful with computers,my problem is that when I went onto the live game tonight, the pictures come through but after a few seconds of playing the picture just freezes as if it has been paused, and it won’t start up again. As you can imagine I have had it in the ear of the little one.Are there anyone fellow blues out there who may know what is wrong.I have got broadband and I think we are windows xp.

Brian,

As long as you have at least 1meg broadband you shouldnt have any problems with watching video over the internet. Like any other video streaming over the web, the faster the connection, the better the service. If you have a good broadband connection I would put this problem down to EvertonTV. Hope this helps.

Cheers Mike mate.We have 2.3meg broadband,so by what you say that should be ample.Funny thing was with only 5 minutes to go of the game,it just started playing and was then fine.
