Jimmy Vaughan Injury?

To be honest, I couldn't care less about the Preston result (although it is nice to see Victor score), it's the Vaughan injury which worries me. Injuries were always going to be the fear with such a small squad; it's too early to start picking up major injury problems.
As good as Vaughan is, he does seem to be prone to injury. He was off a long time with that serious knee injury, came back towards the end of last season but got injured again with that severed vein in his foot. This latest injury suggests a worrying trend in the young lads career.

Vaughan is starting to remind me Jeffers and Ball. Young, full of promise but injury prone. Hopefully the injuries won’t take the same toll on him as they did on that duo who we once sold for a cobined $15 million.

Nah,he will be ok - I would be more worried if he kept gettin the same injury like Michael Owen for instance and his spiderweb strength hamstrings but James has just been a bit unlucky!

Gutted about Vaughny, unfortunately we’re going to have to get behind Beattie again and watch him painfully miss from two yards game after game.
Supporting this club is fucking stressful.

It’s Vaughn’s style of play, he loves to chase and get stuck in. Brave little so and so that he is.

Nick is right that is Vaughany’s game and if you take that away from him he is not the same player. As David Moyes said he tackles centre halves they dont tackle him. He is beginning to remind me of Andy Gray. Puts his head, foot, shoulder on anything. I very much doubt he is injury prone. His knee injury was bad but the severed vein was a complete fluke and the shoulder cannot be helped as seen with Theo Walcott.

Bit of a disaster in my book, lets hope AJ does not pick up an injury because if he does we are done and dusted for a first few months.

Not a great start is it? Looks like he’ll be out until mid September at least - a real shame. The only silver lining is that’s the position we probably have the best cover for in our small squad.
I think we should try to get behind Beattie and give our full support. I’m really hoping both he and VDM can get a full pre-season’s training under their belt and start producing the goods.
Fingers crossed there are no other serious injuries. COME ON YOU BLUE BOYS

Thats three pre-seasons in a row Vaughan has missed now. Very injury prone player.

Vaughan has been unlucky that’s all certainly not injury prone as some of you may think. The injury he picked up against Bolton(severed vein) was a complete freak accident, last nights injury was also an unusual one. Just remember though that whenever he has been layed low by an injury he has come back more determined and scored a hatful. This opportunity has got to be the last one for Beattie. Jutkiewicz is a good prospect but nothing more so that leaves us with AJ,Beattie& Anichebe for the start of the season. McFadden is still not ready after breaking a metatarsal. Injuries will occur that’s the nature of the game so DM will have to shuffle the pack a little. If Piennar signs he could play as an attacking two with Cahill behind AJ so there will be options. COYB!

Missing three pre-seasons in a row isn’t bad luck, thats just injury prone. Maybe we should sell him? Got a small squad no room for people who can’t pull their weight.

a lot of talk about getting behind beattie here, and thats fair enough. the only thing i’ll say on this is that last night it was the 19 year old anichebe who looked the senior partner in the preston match. does anybody believe beattie would of scored from the position victor scored from. i’ll be a bit disappointed if beattie is selected ahead of victor
