Yobo's philanthropy

Comments (4)

I felt that in the current climate of arguements over stadium relocation, our lack of new signings et al, the story of how Joey Yobo is putting his hard earned back into his community at home is a refreshingly bright story and deserves a deal of credit.

Too much these days we hear of dodgy dealings of players/ agents and the more unsavoury aspects of football, Yobo's dedication to his project seems to put a few things in perspective regarding our obsession with trivialities. Well done Joey lad.

Well said - I felt proud when I read the article. We often hear of the gentlemanly side of former players like Labone, T.G.Jones and Dixie Dean. I hope Joe stands up there with the best for all time.

I think the footballers who come from poorer backgrounds are more down to eart. Joseph coming from a poor area in Nigeria understands poverty. He does have a few charities. He also helps kids from the inner city of Liverpool

I’m sure he gets a few tax breaks as well by donating money to the charity...
