Beattie

Well the fickle finger of fate now looks like James Beattie will not be moving on, I'm gutted for Vaughney but he will pull through. I am a complete optimist and still hold a slight glimmer of hope for James Beattie to come good, his heart if not his feet are certainly in the right place.

But I am interested to know if we are going to take a punt of Alan Smith, I do think he would be an assett to the team and they way we play, in his last few games for United he started to look like a player back in form and I'm a little suprised they would sell him on.

The papers are currently reporting that we are looking at Taylor from Portsmouth, now THAT would be a signing... Whoever we opt for I'm sure the season will be as hellish as all the others but it is all well worth it

Come on the Blues!

I like you enthusiasm Danny. With regards to Beattie,I personally have never wanted a player to succeed more at Everton. Furthermore, having seen the early pre-season pictures I genuinely believe he has lost a good deal of weight and is ready to put a bit of pressure on the youngsters. However, having been in attendance last night (and it might be a touch harsh) but it appears same old same old with the lad. He is an honest professional, but for whatever reason it just isn’t happening for him. One thing that continues to bug me are the amount of headers that Vaughan wins against centre halves, that neither Victor nor Beattie get anywhere near! Whether it’s just a better spring or just a greater hunger on Vaughan’s behalf I simply don’t know, but whilst the youngster is making a menace of himself and terrorising defences, Beattie simply won’t get a sniff.

As for Matthew Taylor, I unfortunately can’t agree. For me he is an average player who would undoubtedly provide cover for the entire left side, but would struggle to hold down a place in the starting XI.

Although a scorer of great goals, he certainly isn’t a great player.

I severely doubt United will release Smith until Tevez is signed. I would guess that’s why specualation on him has cooled.

Regardless of how many wieght loss programmes Beattie under goes
one thing will remain the same.
The lad is crap and does not belong in the Premier Leauge.

As I have said before the game has moved on in this country since James Beattie last had a decent season which was 6 years ago.

Moyes is a fool for keeping him so long and even a bigger fool for giving him another go this year. Is it any wonder we never get any where as a football club when the manager cant even off load plodders like JB.

Matty Taylor is an average player who scored some cracking goals, but overall an average player. Again he is one of this group we have been linked with - for 2-3mil then yes but 5-6 mil is just over-priced.

The Vogal thing is a worry, however I think it is just Betis trying to get what they can, even if we have to part with .5-1mil he would be a good signing with experience. Don’t know much about Pienaar apart from what I saw on Campionship Manager a couple of years ago, but as a left winger with pace, on a loan deal with view to permanent it sounds a promising deal.

Beattie is crap and I hope we do sell him, Smith as a replacement will complement our style of play better and a partner for AJ, younger and can also play right wing, attacking mid and defensive mid so would be a cracking signing.

The Barzilian lad in defence too, never heard of him to have 3 quality young centre backs means non of Yobo or Lescott can afford a bad game then all the better for our squad, especially with (hopefully) a lot of games in Europe to play.

Look at the stats for the past2 (at least)years on Matt Taylor, the best attacking defense player in the Premiership (goals scored, assists).

You’re saying we don’t need the best left sided defender /midfielder in the Premiership

Who do you want then, Richardson??????????
