Re: RheinEnergieStadion, Cologne
There has been a lot of doom and gloom recently about the potential move and the loss of atmosphere if we move from good old Goodison.
I have just seen the link on TW to the potential design (votes permitting) of EFC's new home. I was at the World Cup last summer for all the England games and the Cologne stadium had the best amosphere and was a really great place to watch footy. It sure beats the souless Boltons and Wigan (and possibly Arsenal) bowl designs!

I've just read the article on the RheinEnergie Stadion. Am I in a minority here by thinking that if that is possibly what our new stadium is going to look like, is anyone not the slightest bit excited by it?
I know Wyness did say ' a nice ground' but I'm sure his words were pounced on by certain people both in the media and in various websites. The truth has been posted on here before but its simple, we can't afford to redevelop GP nor can we single handedly afford to finance a new build on our own. If Tesco are willing to bankroll a new ground like the Cologne one, why not?
I also agree with those that are concerned about voting on something we have not even seen? Would you vote for a political party if you had no idea what their policies are? See the similarities?
Check out the pictures, I can't read German but the various pictures do look impressive. Imagine the stadium with blue seats. Come on guys, reality check time, wake up and smell the coffee.

It could be good cos it’s different than the expected bowl. Would be a hell of a lot better on the waterfront somewhere, but suppose there’s no gap in the market for Tesco up that way!!
The atmosphere at Goodison has gone downhill in recent years anyway, I’d give anything for a part of the new stadium to revert back to unreserved seating like the Lower Glwadys was back in the good old days when I first got my season tickets. Matchdays were so much fun, in the ground 90 mins before kick off to get a seat and start singing!
Just hope they find a plan B from somewhere and get in the city centre, Kirkby for me would only be acceptable as an ultimate last resort. Please try to find some sort of plan B first to test the water!

One thing I did try to imagine on the photos, was what it would look like with 20,000 empty seats.Like the idea though,of the stands seeming to be right on top of the pitch.

Don’t forget though Steve.Kenwright is cashing in his tesco points,Wich my other half tells me are worth 4 times there value, if you don’t spend them on shopping in Tesco.

i saw a bundasliga game in the koln stad in 2005 prior to the world cup, it is a well designed stadium IMHO a brilliant view from every angle plenty of leg room, the amenities are easily on hand, acess and egress are good, and the atmosphere was great, even wirh a german crowd!if we get something similar for the outlay ican honestly say it will win over the sceptics, its compact for its size, one criticism, think the corners could be better designed,

im ot being funny but i hope the design of our propossed stadium is a lot better than that. The view from the inside of the stadium looks fair enough, but it looks like it isn’t finished from the outside!

Not sure those pictures do it justice.

Well, I’m sorry but that stadium in Cologhne is a hughe pile of cack. It looks like Ewood Park, old fashioned and tacky. Liverpools new ground will look like a huge spaceship, ours will look like a clapped out Skoda. Another reason to vote against this disgraceful ground move

A fantastic stadium.
But would look a lot better situated on Kings Dock.

I was hoping, regardless of where the stadium was sited, that the Everton Tower(s) could be incorporated into the design. Similar to the design of the current Everton Megastore. If we can’t have a ’spaceship’ then we must have some feature(s) that represent Everton Football Club. On second thoughts given the state of our club at the moment, perhaps that isn’t such a good idea.

I love that stadium design, it would maintain a great atmosphere and look great hosting a European match. And I like the look from the outside, very unique.

Love the idea of the Everton tower incorporated to a stadium design. Would really help keep hold of at least some identity if we’re leaving our spiritual home!

We could always ask FC KOLN if they still have the materials from the ground that they knocked down - Müngersdorfer Stadion - it will probably be better than the place we eventually get.

Images of our new stadium being released at 10am tomorrow (Friday).
Also has anyone else noticed this ballot has gone from 33,000 fans able to vote, to 40,000, and now it’s over 40,000. Is Wyness just talking crap he thinks we wanna hear?
