Sod off!

The one thing I've been praying for more than any other this summer, was to see the back of Beattie. When he leaves we will be a lot better off even if we don't replace him, because he is a total waste of space and we're better playing with 10 men than with him lumbering around the pitch.

My hopes keep getting raised and the thought of actually getting money for him gets me positively excited. That's when the reports start to sound like fiction though, as he isn't worth a thing. We would be better off playing Tony Hibbert up front, and I'm not joking either.

It's my one hope for the summer... let's hope there's some desperate, naive, optimistic muppet out there that will take him out of our sight. I just dont think I could stand another 2 years of being right about him whilst half of you want to give him one more last chance, in the very vain hope that he may, eventually, one day, somewhere, just for a moment, come good.

I think James Vaughan's injury may have put paid to any hope you might have had of seeing the back of Beattie this summer, Mike.

just to make you feel happier he is more than likely to be one of our higher earners too.

Come on lets just get behind him. His not going anywhere is he. If he has a good start, he might go on one of his runs. That will cover us for while Vaughan is injured.
But there is nothing to gain in moaning about him, let him kick a ball this season and then see. I know we have said it all before, but as his not going, lets give him another go.

Here Here!!! Moyes won’t get rid though because he would rather see him finsih out his contract and let him go for free than admit he made a 6m mistake!! Unfortunately that is little consolation to us fans, and he is one of the top earners. I don’t hate beattie, it is just that he has had enough chances and he just cannot cut it at EFC, good luck to him in the future, he tried but was not good enough, i don’t know why because at Soton he was class??? Who would have thunk it!!!Oh and one final point, even if Vaughan wasn’t injured we stil need another class forward for the long season we have, look how easy it is to get an injury aka vaughan, if AJ gets injurred we are screwed!!!!

I think Beattie will come good this season,I went to the bookies to have a punt on him being top scorer and the girl behind the desk said i could pick the odds myself!

I saw him last night at Preston, and for an hour he had the touch of a rapist. He appeared to be trying too hard, but in the last 10 minutes he was on the ball, and started playing reasonably well.
As for getting behind him, the whole croed chanted Beattie give us a wave at the end, to which he responded.
As long as he wears blue we’ll be behind him - he needs one to bounce in off his arse to give him the confidence boost he desperately needs.

On the other hand, I’d certainlt sell him if the price was right (above a tenner LOL)

Sorry Roy but the paying punters pay to be entertained with talent, Beattie simply hasn’t done the job he is extremely well paid for, no goals from open play for over 18 months, fitness problems, well known partying. It’s just not acceptable that mediocrity should be ignored, the club can barely afford bargain bucket players let alone one’s that can’t do the job at all, the same argument goes for Andy Van der Meyde, just how long would you pay him hoping that one day he will play 90 minutes in one game for the first team? These people are paid shedloads of cash, for christ’s sake if they cant sort their own personal shit out then they should piss off and worry someone else on their wage bill.

Don’t panic, lads.I have it on good authority that Beattie will be off-probably on deadline day.In the meantime,he’ll play his bollox off to make sure he gets something like the dough he’s on here.Just watch this space!

I really thought that we were ok for strikers before Vaughans injury, Johnson, Vaughan, Anichebe, Beattie, McFadden, and Cahill could play up there, If as expected we sign Vogel and Pienaar. I am now hoping we sign Smith from United as he can also play in midfield and has a fantastic workrate and always shows 100% so I feel he would suit a David Moyes team perfectly.
