Pienaar

It's interesting to see that Pienaar has the number 10 shirt at Dortmund, and our number 10 was left vacant. Moyes must have been planning for him for a while. Should be a good coup once a deal can be finalised. One worry is that he played with Shandy at Ajax, so hopefully he won't be given a tour by our tipsy Dutchman around the city's watering holes.

Or Vogel could take the no 10. Or Riquelme! :p
I wouldn't read too much into squad numbers ? after all, the no 1 shirt was left vacant.

I am not even holding my breath on anything until I see both Pienaar and Vogel at Goodison in their Everton shirts. We all know how long it takes Everton to sign players and already their looks to be some problems with Alan Irvine quoted as saying he doesnt know where they are up to regarding any impending deals.. We can garauntee with E.F.C that this will drag on for a few weeks yet.

Famous number 10s - Roy Vernon, John Hurst, Tony Cottee, Paul Bracewell, Pele (hang on a minute) is Pele available on a free? I suspect a cunning plan.

Moving slightly away from the shirt number issue but staying with Pienaar, at the bottom of the Vogel update yesterday it was saying that after a nominal fee for the loan the price to transfer Peinaar would be £2M. Please don’t tell me we can’t afford £2-£3M!
If so where did all our prize/Sky money go?

Have just seen on the premiership news that Everton are in talks with Peinaar’s club about a 12months loan deal with the option to buy at the end of that time if EFC so wish. This seems the wise thing to do - if he’s good then we buy, if he’s not then we don’t have to - a bit of shrewd thinking methinks on the part of Moyes following on from Koldrup. What worries me though is that it says he failed to hit the back of the net in 25 appearances for his Club - that ain’t going to be great then is it

The lad is a midfielder not a striker mate!

According to Borussia Dortmund’s site he has landed and is having his medical now, once and if that goes through he is on loan for us for 1 season with a view to a permanent move. Everything has been sorted out with both clubs it will be announced later on SSN.
