The Move ?Debate?

It really seems to me to be a "No Brainer". It would have been fantastic if Liverpool City Council had agreed to CPO all of the land three streets back from Gladwys Street, Gladwys Street School and all land up to Walton Hall Drive, all land from Goodison Road up to County Road, and donated that to EFC on which they could develop a new stadium over a number of years, or donate a whole area of Stanley Park incorporating the Lake up to Anfield Road to enable us to build, while not impacting on Goodison Park while the new Stadium is built.

However, they were only prepared to bend over backwards in that manner for Liverpool FC, not for us. All Bradley has said "at the 11th hour", when he realises the consequences of LCC's incompetence, is that "we might be able to find some land on which EFC might be able to find someone who might be prepared to throw some money into the pot to contribute to a stadium the design of which nobody can at this stage predict".

"Liverpool" (in it's current, transient, boundary format), have let us down, and deserve nothing from us.

"Merseyside", for whom we are, and will forever be "The People's Club", deserve and are historically entitled to the continuing presence of, two of the greatest representatives of English Football in the world, including ourselves, the "Senior member", and our "Red Neighbours"

The intellectual and political shortcomings of the present incumbants of Liverpool City Council will be well forgoten when our two "Merseyside" Clubs battle it out over the next Century during the ebb and flow of fortunes in "The Premier League" or whatever succeeds it that will inevitably evolve.

Kings Dock? Didn’t Liverpool City Council Support EFC for the best site in the city? Check out the city planning records, Everton Have NEVER asked to relocate to Stanley Park. LFC did! Can’t blame anyone but EFC for that..... not to mention the kings Dock debacle! Leave the city to the reds and we might as well pack in now! Kirkby population 36k, Liverpool 470k..... yeah that makes sense!

With regards to Everton enquiring about Stanley Park, I was under the impression that it was an informal enquiry and an informal "No chance" from the council. Thatcher’s Britain!

I have supported Everton all my life, my 5yr old son supports Everton too. We will go where they play because we support the club, and NOT the politicians!! Whatever you say, the deal for Kirby is a great deal for Everton financially. Is it the right move though? Only time will tell.
Either way, I will continue to support.

Ah, Merseyside is it? Great, let’s move to Newton-le-Willows! St Helen’s anyone? How about Elsmere Port?

This isn’t about Liverpool City Council. It’s about moving Everton to a retail park outside the City which will be a nightmare to get to and from unless you live in Kirkby. Try a visit to Bolton or Reding if you want to see what that will be like. It’s a no brainer alright.

Firstly, even most informal enquiries for planning permission..... especially from major institutions are filed. Enquiring for a small piece of land for additional car parking is not the same as asking to build a stadium. Also, Liverpool’s a dump yet Kirkby is paradise? You need to get around there are far worse places than Liverpool or Walton. Ask yourself this: would the Philharmonic/Empire/Liverpool’s CBD/The cathedrals etc consider moving to Kirkby or any peripheral site because there’s a motorway going past it? It would be commercial suicide for them to desert their centre of catchment site...... Kirkby can never be that!
