Bored of Directors

As a club, I believe we have a rich history of poor decision-making on the part of directors / coaches.
It's well documented that Dean was nearly lost to Newcastle because of shilly-shallying about the price, and that he was nearly lost again when a club official publicly accused him of drunkenness. Mercer, sold to Arsenal; Lawton sold; Bally sold to help fund the main stand... We all have a favourite example at which we shudder.
And now we have the showman and his monkey leading us to the glittering prospect of Kirkby and a transfer policy based on buy one / get one free.
Like many others before them, the current Board and CEO can be accused of a shattering lack of ambition and a failure to invest properly for the future. The new tin can will hold another ten thousand fans. Splendid. Have I missed the sound of 20,000 hands beating on Goodison's gates for admission? Another £10M for players? In three years time, that kind of money wouldn't buy Never Heard of Him's cruciate ligament!
There is an answer for those who care, and an answer which won't affect the team's morale or involve DM in politics. Very simply, don't put any more money than strictly necessary into the Board's pockets. Don't buy programmes, merchandise, food and drink, or take part part in any of the other money-making schemes the club is thoughtful enough to provide.
Any anger that is felt should be aimed (it goes without saying) at the Directors' Box and the monkey's cash tin. A few weeks of such action might persuade monkey to arrive at a plan B!

Protest by witholding money? No... sorry; not completely convinced that will persuade anyone to alter course. But it will probably damage the prospects of the team by further limiting the amount of money available for transfers (Buster's money mindgames notwithstanding). Is that what we really want?

That is daft. Until any of us has the money we cannot make the bad decisions of Cahill, Arteta, Lescott, Howard and Johnson. Wake up and realise we support, not finance our club. if we for some god forsaken reason end up in the hell that is the lower leagues, i hope everone here is still on this site

Mike I agree that there must be someway to put pressure on the Cretans that run our club. And I have already decide that when they drag us screaming to Kirkby I will still go to the game but will not renew my ticket because I wont need to as we will not fill the stadium, neither will I spend the cash on programmes ,drinks ect until Kenwright goes as I now despise the man so the least of my money he gets the better I had been going to stop going to home games but Why spite myself

For god sake
Do you think not buying things will in some way help whatever happens. No director at Everton has ever taken any dividends from the club, it is a bottomless pit to them, and certainly not a money making enterpise. Boycotting any from of revenue to the club will just damage the quality of the people on the pitch

Mike you are an idiot. There is no profit in the current Everton team for anyone. We need all the funds we can get to finance the team and whatever stadium we decide to build. The profits only come when the team are doing well and we can make the most out of the clubs assets which are currently nil

Brian Hughes - the clubs accounts for 2006 show emoluments to the highest paid director of £466k, an increase on 2005’s £177k, so someone’s taking something out.

Steve McBride, that would be the renumeration for one Buster Wyness, including basic salary plus bonuses for two years (as he was ill for a long period of the previous year). Buster is the only Everton Director who is paid a salary... although payment is for his full-time employment as CEO. It is repeatedly claimed that the Everton Directors (Buster aside) are unpaid and do it out of love. I do not believe they would be allowed to give themselves "Dividends"... although that might be a question for someone who has studied the Articles of Association.
