Does it feel right?

Like most fans, I have been agonisng over the ground move, although always leaning towards a No vote.
My mind however is now firmly made up: it is going to be NO, NO, NO! If we are honest, most major decisions in life are taken on instinct - is it right to buy that house, is it the right time to have kids ? who knows? ... but you go with how you feel at the time.
No-one, and I mean no-one, would choose Kirkby as the first option and the whole project feels wrong. With the news that sites as close as Scotty Rd could be available it surely becomes a no-brainer. The Board will simply have to work harder and find investment or commercial partners for those sites in Liverpool.
I would desparately implore everyone to vote No - if it feels wrong, it is because it probably is wrong ? go with your gut instinct.
Finally, the scare tactics of the club are beneath contempt and deserve a resounding rejection on their own. The vote is likely to be on a knife edge and every vote will count. I believe those warning against Kirkby are now gaining ground very fast ? please vote NO and encourage others to do likewise.

I must admit I am really torn.
If there were a Plan B within the city boundary I would vote for that every single time, even if the design were not as grand as the Kirkby option. But there is no plan B so I am scared of voting NO but I am also very very afraid of voting YES.
If only we’d have built King’s Dock.....

I have always been staunch anti kirkby because of the heritage that is being put at risk by people I have never trusted and now hate, so was dreading the spin with the new pictures and bullshit spin due out, well I have been suprised and relived at how poor it all has been . The ground looks worse than I thought they have tried to woo us like you do women trying to sell your house all chrome and lights well look behind it and its just a bigger version of the reebok in a similar area , but topped it all is that aberdeen fan, day after day contradicting himself ( how much pay rise did he give himself)
Cannot these people see what they are doing well they are falling for a quick fix, we are Everton we have been around too long to suddenly dissapear because our ground is too old and if you think we would dissapear then you dont know everton football club and what it is about.

Paul, I agree. That was my point but maybe it didn’t come across as such a strong No in my post. I live in Knowsley and, strangely, would have no objections if the stadium was proposed on Bowring Park Golf course for example, but the fact that it’s in Kirkby is an enormous No for me.

How about everyone just looks at all the facts and makes their own mind up, instead of ’imploring’ others to see their particular point of view ?
If, on the other hand you’re not clever enough to do so, please feel free to take my advice to vote ’yes’*
*I’m being sarcastic here.

My vote is and always has been a NO and if Billy Liar had kept to his word felt the vote would be close as the silent majority can not be naive enough to still trust Bill but as its only going to be taken on board and the very people that have a vested interest in moving decide we need a large majority to say no. they say a fools born every minute lets hope they are not blues

To all you "I’m not going to Kirkby" so vote no people.Go and supprt the redshite at the new analfield!!
Are you all to fat anmd lazy to get up off your arses or maybe too drunk to get a bus, tram, trainetc from Kirkby back to town or Walton or wherever for a bevvy.
Goodison, god bless her,and I love the place is finished. It’s too old to redevelop and too landlocked £500k a summer just to maintain think about it!
Also LCC DON’T WANT US!!That’s why they’ve put obstacles in our way everytime we’ve come up with the likes of the Kings Dock and Stanley Park(they laugheed in our faces qwhen we asked to build there)and now at the 11th hour they’ve found alteratives to Kirkby have you seen them in the Echo, all total bollocks!!
We either move to Kirkby or we become just another club who’s fans talk about the old days over a pint.
Forget our history think of our future!!
Oh and by the way I think that BK,KW and DM are all full of shite before anybody says different.

I have at least seven friends who all have season tickets who are voting FOR the move. We are all from south Liverpool. All I can think of is that all the people who are really pissed off are the ones who live near the ground, lazy bastards.

For quite a while now there has been a ground swell that the current board does not represent the best interest of EFC, then surely a NO vote is a vote of no confidence and maybe places them in a untenable position.

Jamie, I live in South Liverpool, and of my group of friends, (most with over 30 years going the match) only 1 MIGHT vote yes to the move. Some of these are people who go to Kirkby every day for work by the way. It’s not about being Lazy...... what business would move their premises away from the centre of its core custom? The hard core would travel anywhere, does that mean location is unimportant? A new venue has to be more convenient for the average blue for it to be right to move..... This can never be achieved at the edge of, or out of town, regardless of motorways. That’s why the city centre and the CBD and all the amenities are where they are, and will never move to the likes of Kirkby!
