The Mail Bag

For those with no Vision!

I cannot believe the negativity of some Everton Fans and "Groups" who claim to represent the majority of the fans. The move to Kirkby is not one I particularly have as my No 1 desire but it stands out as the only option to consider. Counciller Bradley has finally come up with 2 sites for a stadium in the city and they are total non-starters and quite frankly a joke. Has anyone seen Long Lane and Speke traffic at peak times and weekends! Why hasn't the old Bus Depot on the Lancs next to M57 been put forward? Are the council making it look like they want Everton to stay by this last-minute offering??

Ok... "Let's stay at Goodison and stagnate" group ? How do we get the funding to redevelop Goodison or build a Stadium in the City??? Are Aldi or Lidl gonna come up with the money and expertise to build the Stadium?

Personally I think some people are fearful they wont be able to have drinks up to 1455 on County Road and then get up to Goodison for kickoff. If they don't want to come out of their comfort zone to go 3 miles to the new one then stay in the pub and watch it on the telly. Meanwhile, myself and other will go and support our team wherever they play.

Do these same people not go to away games cos its not Everton playing at Goodison? Next they will be saying they will only go to watch Everton if they play in blue! Please open your minds and think of Everton's long term future and not where you want to drink before the game.

Spiderman, we are thinking of Evertons LONG TERM future and thats why a move to Kirkby will be devastating. I live in south liverpool and agree that Speke isnt the ideal place. I dont mind travelling to Goodison now coz the area has character. Im not travelling to the middle of nowhere to enjoy a dismal atmosphere and a tescos own butty before the match.

now see that is the problem the Kirby is the only deal on the table which is a total disgrace, how can we be given only one option on such an important issue. The reason for this must surely be put into the period of exclusivity which has stopped us searching every single site and working out how we could do it. Also why does a supermarket have to be involved their are many commercial companies that i am sure would love to be a part of a huge football club. Your attack on those who want to stay at the football club is in my opinion overlooking many works that have been published on KEIOC and this website and you may have noticed that these carry a great deal more information that our board have given on Kirkby.

The reason that Kirkby is the only deal on the table is because for a once in alifetime moment lady luck is shining on Everton...How many other clubs without major investment would get a chance to own a modern stadium for such a comparatively small and manageable outlay?..The last minute details otlined by the pathetic LCC smack of trying to save face politically. Where have they been since the Kings Dock fell through?..But the main questions are :Where do we find the whole amount for even a comparable stadium to the one in Kirkby, and how do we attract investment in the shadow of LFC?..Catch 22.

To nil satis you are exactly the type of fool that spidey is on about.
Walton has character !I’m 41 born and bred in the area and unfortunately character is not a word I’d use to describe it.So you won’t go to Kirkby ? then you’re not an Evertonian you’re a Goodisononian why don’t you go and support the redshite at their new redsox stadium.
M Smith what are you on about great works by KEIOC!! All’s they do is shout everybody down who doesn’t share their opinion.
If LCC come up with a viable option eg the land opposite the showcase, are willing to give it to us for FREE,(which KBC ARE)find us millions in grants and find us an investor such as Tesco to fund 90% of the costs I’d jump for joy!!
But they haven’t/won’t and don’t care, they’re just making noises about caring, ask the 10,000 employees who’ve been sold down the river by them about how much they care.
It’s time to get realistic if we don’t accept Kirkby we’re finished, because if we stay at Goodison how long before we’re refused a safety certificate?
It already costs £500k a year to maintain.
Yes she’s a Grand Old Lady so let her keep her dignity, thank her for the memories and move on.
If KEIOC have some billionaire investors hidden away then name them but much like LCC who they’re hand in glove with they’re full of hot air.
As I’ve stated before I’m an Evertonian not a Goodisonian what are you M and nil satis?

Peter,I’m not a redshite.Bang out of order by the way.My problem is everyone thinks the sun shines out of Kenwrights arse and he has to be trusted.Kenwright lost my trust a long time ago.NTL,fortress and if he wouldn’t have fucked the Kings dock up,we wouldn’t be having this debate now. Also,Is that what it has come to now?anyone who protests too much is labelled a redshite.I think you need to grow up mate.

’lets’s stay at Goodison and stagnate’ group? You ignorant tit. Do you even read anyone else’s posts on this site? If you did you would realise that the majority against the move do not have this opinion just to stay at GP. It’s a pathetic ’come back’ when you will find that it’s the location ok, got that, LOCATION, and the fact that BK can’t even be arsed to check out the alternatives that is the biggest concern. They may be shit options from LCC and if so what’s BK got to lose?

You talk about no vision but are wlling to follow blindly FFS

Brian, EFC have been consulting with the LCC prior to and since the Kings Dock collapse. They well know EFC have been looking to build a new stadium. Its true that EFC messed them about over Kings Dock (Gregg), but they didnt really want EFC there (due to transport problems and multi-million pound apartments). They refused us two sites that we know about i)East Lancs Rd and ii) The one that pisses everyone off, Stanley park.
also, when EFC looked at redeveloping Goodison, they said it could not be done due to the "footprint" being too large. They didnt believe EFC would get funding for Kirkby. Now they have, Bradley is spitting his dummy out offering all sorts of sites in order to save face.Hes even gone back on what EFC were told over redeveloping Goodison. How could they be trusted?

Steve,
I don?t think you have read my piece fully and have picked out certain parts, taken them out of context and reacted like a mad man!
There is no other options than to stay at Goodison or move to Kirkby. Or do you know of another source of £50-75 million to facilitate a move. Live in the real world, Steve and keep your petty name calling to yourself. I?m willing to travel 3 miles to Kirkby to watch my beloved blues... you can stay in the pub on county road mate and watch it on the telly....

Steve Mc before you go calling people ignorant tits, look at your own rant!
You don’t even read the echo or you’d have seen the alternatives, long lane ffs, come up with an argument that makes sense.
Where are the other options ,investors and companies willing to help us ?
Don’t know ? well shut up until you do!!
There are NO other options open.
As I’ve stated before LCC,BK,KW and DM are all full of shit but until someone who may well be fuller of the brown stuff but with more money comes along we’re stuck with them.
Any ideas...no... thought not.

Before you lads start going overboard about keeping the precious craphole that is Goodison remind yourself what it’s like when you go the Emirates...or Old Trafford..or new Wembley etc etc They are palaces worthy of modern football and generate money accordingly. We are living in the age of corporatism so get used to it and get yourself out of the Spellow and the Winslow and into luxurious new surroundings which a new stadium would provide!
Goodison couldn’t generate a fart these days and we must acknowledge that and move on. I want clean bathrooms at the match plus decent food and drink instead of the pit that is Goodison. Girlies like these things you know and we are starting to make up a far greater proportion of the fanbase than 20 yrs ago! Pay homage to Goodison/Winslow/Spellow and remember the good times.. then bin them all off and move on.

Lois,
all ladies are welcome at Goodison and Kirkby. The excellent facilities at a new ground will attract new supporters and thus increase the number of female supporters. I don?t know if that appeals to Steve Mc but I for one welcome more ladies to look at on matchdays! Steve can look at the usual barmaid?s on county road and get a crick in his neck watching the big screen on the wall. I will back Bruce though and say if fans can find someone to stump up the money for a new stadium in Liverpool I will fully support that if the site is suitable. Back to Steve and LCC, one in the same maybe???

Lois lane wants clean bathrooms at the match? I’ve never had a bath at the match, sounds an interesting concept though. Funnily enough I’ve heard a lot of people comment about the soulless experience of the emirates, and the new wembley hosting the quietest cup final of all time..... But the "bathrooms" are probably great!!!

Peter, apologies for calling you a tit, it’s the first time I have been ’goaded’ into personal ’abuse’ but the fact remains that you, Bruce, (who apparently doesn’t read the Echo, Speke, Scotland Road, Bestway etc.), and even worse Lois, haven’t even taken notice of what most of the Anti move posters, me included, are saying. You fall lamely behind the ’can’t you see GP can’t be redeveloped, no money’ comments but what you don’t seem to understand is that the majority of those saying ’no’ accept that, try reading them, and are asking that ALL options are explored by BK before we make a major decision on moving out. Show us they have done this, be honest, stop changing the make up of the deal, and if Kirkby is proven to be the best option then many more will support it, not all, but to say yes because the man ’selling’ you the deal says it’s great without even asking questions to me is not an option.
