Stadium move

Comments (4)

Knowsley Municipal Borough are supportive, encouraging and would love to have us. Liverpool City Council are biased against us, don't listen and aren't that bothered about us. Our stadium is old and small. Tesco is willing to pay most of the costs of a new and bigger stadium.

This is a golden opportunity to make a big leap forward after lagging behind for so long. Every club at the top is either redeveloping or building new stadiums because they see it's vital for their futures.

We don't have the luxury of being able to redevelop Goodison into an Emirates or an Old Trafford so we have to move. We could move to another part of liverpool and build a new stadium with all the expense and debt that Arsenal are experiencing (a team on the way down maybe?) or we could have one built for us 4 miles away, in a town thats a hotbed of support, for as much money as buying a wannabe England striker.

So there it is: a new stadium, minimal debt, extra revenue, higher standing in the game, bigger crowds... Or maybe some of you are right and the important thing is our bloody postcode.

Its only 4 miles people!! I cant believe there is this much fuss about 4 miles!! Im from South London, here there are teams such as Crystal Palace, Charlton, Millwall etc etc. These are London teams but they’re not smack bang in the middle of London are they! Neither is Wembley in the city centre!! Nor will the Olympics Stadium be in the centre of London! Its going to be in Stratford. If the Olympics can manage to be a few miles away from the centre of London, im sure Everton can manage to be a few miles from the centre of Liverpool, and I’m sure you guys can get a bus!
The Stadium looks good, we dont have to pay over our means for it and KW is talking about keeping the tradition and atmosphere of Goodison. Sounds good to me. Stop complaining about 4 miles!

John suppose we move to Kirkby and for once Bill has told the truth,we as debt free with a new stadium then become attractive to investors so far so good but a buyer comes in and borrows the buy out cash using the club as security on we not then stuck in Kirkby and deep in debt while Billy and his cohorts sit smug pocketing the cash

So what if bill does sell the club to people who finance their deal the same way as a lot of other people. It happened at man utd and they’ve just spent 50 million.

But you’re being negative AND thinking about something thats a long way off. Who’s to say it isn’t as likely that bill will sell everton in a wolves style and we get a big one off transfer fund.

I think some people are just afraid of change.
