Barr, what are they getting out of it?

One thing has been niggling me all day. Tesco are getting Barr to build a stadium that would normally cost £75M, and getting them to do it for £50M. So are Barr willing to lose £25m on this project? If so, what are they getting out of this deal? Surely to lose that sort of money, there must be something in it for them?

Just maybe it’s to demolish GP and build the new Walton Tesco Superstore in it’s place, two builds signed on one deal

You could waste all day trying to figure out whos gettin what out of who,but the whole price thing could just be as simple as this - If Barr do a good job on the stadium they will get other projects from Tesco (and possibly other football clubs) because in this country it surely cant hurt to have Tesco on your side whatever your business may be (including Everton FC)

Barr are in partnership with Tesco with regards to building a number of retail sites in the UK. Hence they are building the stadium at cost.Thier profit will come from further ventures with Tesco.

From my understanding, the bulk of the discount comes from the fact that the whole development area is being done at once.....rather than bit by bit. Cheaper in bulk. Plus a bit of the "mate’s rates" factor.

I think Keith's projection software is all fucked up. Mine states:
-
Investment in club >
-
Money for new and better players >
-
More attractive football and maybe even success! >
-
More fans want to come and watch >
-
Larger stadium required
Wyness's reads:
-
Tesco is letting us get the stadium for buttons >
Lets get there as quickly as possible and fuck
- everything else
And besides, would you trust this whole thing to a person called Keith?
