Beattie - 9

Comments (11)

I managed to watch this in YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cphFv-xX08M). Please excuse the "bluriness" of the shot as I believe its taken from a handphone.

After watching this, how on earth did Beattie missed that golden opportunity? FFS. Its a simple tap in and its definitely a sure goal if you put somebody else there, even Tim Howard! What makes it more painful is that after all the great work from da Silva and Anichebe (hope to see it more often), it all goes to vain!

People have been saying that Beattie hasn't been scoring because he is not getting the services that he "required" to score. But how bout this "service"?!

You really blow it, Beats!

Forget that, what great skill from Da Silva. Could he have the skills to be a hit for us. Hope so. More of that please.

Anyone who says Beattie deserves anotheer chance needs to watch that and then admit it. The lads SHITE! and cant even finish from a yard. Moyse wants his head read if he can get £3m for this donkey and odesnt take it. Its even worse than his iopen goal from 8 yards last season. No excuses hes just not good enough.

Beattie has become absolute shite theres no denying that , I also thought he looked fitter when he first came to Everton than he did last season ( dont laugh)..But how did he score 23 goals in one season at Southampton followed by 17 the next season, surely two seasons in a row is not just fortune?. He also scored some 30 yard specials..Where the hell have those goals gone since he joined E.F.C??? An Artur C Clarke mystery that will remain unsolved

I’m not trying to defend beattie’s overall contribution here.
But when I watched that game it did look like there was an arm across him and he was nudged off balance.

an arm across him, for any striker worth his salt, especially one who weighs 22 stone would have buried the defender, ball and himself in the back of the net for that goal, would have loved to see fergusson on the end of that one, and another thing am i the only one who thinks why the F*** did we not offer big breasts in p/exchange plus 2 mill to preston for nugent, could near on gaurantee he would have done a better job with that chance!!

Were Salt Lake playing a 10 man defence?
Anywho, ADS’s skills were great, even checking his run so wouldn’t go off side... Beattie... forget him.

we are stuck with beattie, he is so shite and is a passenger in the team, but at 4mill. nobody will take him, get him off the books anyway possible, and talking about innefective players mcfadden aint good enough either, hope to god AJ and anichebe stay fit ,or its laurel and hardy time!!

Did anyone see the 20 odd mins of highlights from the Salt Lake game? AJ looks really sharp already, but I agree about the Beattie chance - any stiker should’ve got to that (no matter how hard ADS banged it across). They reckon Beattie’s been smashing them in from all over the pitch in training - perhaps the only reason Moyes wanted more than £2m for him, but it has to start happening on the day. We’d all love to see it, just like we’d love Andy VDM to do well, but its very optimistic to beleive either will flourish in a blue shirt.

Cheers, Dunc

beatie sure is stinking up that number 9 shirt.

for me , da silva and jutkiewicz are the shining lights of pre season so far.
which is a nice surprise.
but the one thing i wanted (other than getting shot of em) was for beatie and vdm to show what they can do. but right from the off both players have dissapointed in one way or another.
i say in next game both should start.if they dont give a special performance and show what they really can do , then i would rather moyes sell them and move 2 youngsters into the squad in there place.
i would rather see youth trying than experience failing.

2 points. Firstly I’ve seen Terry Henry, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Zidane miss chances like that, does that mean they are all shite?
Secondly, Beatties past record cannot be a fluke so the ability is there. As all experts will tell you goalscoring is a confidence thing and after last season BTs confidence must be at an all time low. He needs time is all. Don’t forget that the season before last he scored one less league goal than AJ did last season. AJ is a God BT is shite. Hmmm. I wonder
